Good location, right in the city center, but the facilities are average.

The hotel is very crooked, lots of steps to go up and down, low ceilings where you have to bend your head down in the staircases. No hot water in the bathroom on my departure. Breakfast is amazing. But really overpriced and definitely not a four star as advertised.

We happened to have dinner at 'the Blue Bar', of this small boutique hotel in the heard of the old town. The hotel itself has been renovated to a very high standard and rooms, as well as common areas, make you feel.....at home! But what was exceptional, was the standard of the food we had at the restaurant of the hotel. Simply excellent!!

Overall a good hotel, but it is definitely not a 4 star, far from it. The corridors are dark, room locations confusing and hard to find. The room itself, is not well finished, flooring coming apart. The bedding only had a sheet and I could not find a blanket. Breakfast was very good and check in and out quick. Overall I don’t think it’s worth the money requested, I checked out and took a 3 star hotel walking distance, which is far better and over $100 cheaper. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Classic is a modest looking low-rise hotel near the center of this very large city. Within a few hundred meters away were the bus terminal, the shopping streets, a catholic church, an orthodox church, one of three ancient gates, and one of the pedestrian border gates to enter the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. One major problem with the hotel are the steps. You go up several steps from outside ground level. Some rooms are raised a few steps higher or lower than lobby level, the rooms are raised a few inches above the corridor level, and from the elevator, you have a slight incline up to get to corridor level. The room is quite small so very little space to open two luggages in the room. What was strange was that the bathroom was unusually large - and we kept thinking that some of the T&B space could have been given to the bedroom area. With all that T&B space, they could have put in a bidet. We didn't appreciate that the closeup mirror was so high - you had to be over six feet tall to use it! There is CNN on the TV, which we appreciated. But for some reason, the remote kept malfunctioning and when we called the technician, he thought it was the TV so we had to reset the switch every so often. The safe also didn't work - the technician couldn't find the solution either. We loved the full length mirror, even though it hand framing. The wall above the headboard was cleverly designed - there was a cute fabric with a photo of wild flowers and there was a light behind the photo so when you turned on the switch, the whole wall came alive with the lighted photo wall. The fightable lamps were very modern and we appreciated the clever design too. There was only one window, which looked into a very small courtyard, and one of the blackout curtains had its ends out from the curtain rack so that needed fixing too. They had a hot water kettle which we used regularly. There were enough outlets. The toiletries were via dispensers, which were classy and actually worked. Breakfast was decent - but no egg station for omelets. They had fish regularly, enough breads, enough veggies, and the usual coffee dispenser. As usual, the breakfast place was a few steps down from lobby level.

When we arrived the reception manager was wonderful and walked us to our room. The room was great, no issues there. Our issue is with the Blue Bar at the hotel. They flat out refused us service because we didn’t have a reservation nor did we want to order food. The reception manager invited us to the bar for an evening of 70’s-90’s music with a DJ. We thought that sounded great and when we arrived to the bar, the bar manager informed us that since we didn’t have the reservation nor did we want food right then, that we would have to sit in the lobby if we wanted rinks. The bar was completely empty while this was going on. I think the “Blue Bar” caters only to locals and could care less about hotel guests. That was strange and very uncomfortable. Or she just didn’t like us. I was even dressed up so it wasn’t our appearance.
