Hotel Zugbrücke Grenzau Gmbh

A beautiful hotel/spa facility located next to a babbling brook in Hohr Grenzhausen. It's an underappreciated hotel for tourists - mostly locals - and a lot of table tennis players since I believe the German National team trains out of this location. Its a 20min drive to Koblenz Zentrum and the upside is you get fresh Westerwald morning air and serenity. The restaurant is excellent and the breakfast buffet is the stuff of legends. Highly recommend.

after a long day motorcycling in hot weather, you are looking forward to a cool shower however, with this hotel you are subjected to a onorous questionairre that you have to fill out on an i pad, that eventually concludes with having to nominate your gender (why on earth?) All this information possibly leaves you more vulnerable to identity fraud and needing a shower even more. According to the staff, this is normal practice but I have never known it before despite vhaving stayed mant times in German hotels.

Rooms? A disaster — old, uncomfortable, and depressing. Breakfast? Equally tragic, with low-quality food and almost zero variety. The “highlight” of the morning is a middle-aged German waiter who seems to have skipped every hospitality lesson ever written — rude, grumpy, and unable to understand even the word “omelet,” let alone speak a single word of English. Communication feels like trying to explain calculus to a brick wall. And just when you think it can’t get worse, check-in proves you wrong. If we didn’t speak Arabic, we’d have been doomed — no joke. The night receptionist couldn’t see well enough to read our IDs, so he had us read them out loud, then proceeded to redo our fully confirmed reservation from scratch… at midnight… while we waited for over an hour for him to “understand” it. The only thing saving this place from a complete 1-star implosion is the surrounding nature — which, honestly, you can enjoy without ever subjecting yourself to staying here.

The hotel has all we needed for a great meeting / team workshop (logistics, rooms, food, fitness center/spa and service were excellent) and the environment offers everything to not get bored (brewery, bowling, nature, table tennis, etc.)

Great Hotel - Too many doors slamming all night This hotel is like something out of a fantasy movie. Spectacularly beautiful, with helpful staff, gorgeous sauna, etc. The problem is that they built the doors so well (heavy) that the underlying structure of the building physically shakes everytime someone slams ANY door in the building. And as the place is always sold out, the doors will slam a lot, as the people who were sharing the hotel with me were doing ALL NIGHT. Clearly based on the reviews (wonderful) this doesnt affect other people, but I just cant sleep when the whole bed shakes every 5-10 minutes. Ear plugs and white noise machines do nothing for this. I only got to sleep at 4:30am after I requested to get another room, or the last of the guests stopped coming and going. Either I was too exhausted or not but the other building (lift 3) did not have this problem. Or the room I was in 112 was the particular resonance chamber of the hotel because its right over this room (see picture in the mystery noise room)? Who knows? It appears most Germans have no problems sleeping through the equivalent of the Jurassic Park T Rex glass of water scene all night, so all Germans disregard this review. The hotel is amazing otherwise. I just cant rate the comfort over 2 in my review when you get less than 3 hours of sleep a night. I booked it out of the way location so as to get a good night sleep so I was particularly frustrated with the situation.
