Shelter Garden Nikko

You absolutely have to book this hotel with meals included, it's such a great deal! Dinner was amazing, full of thoughtful details – all the plates were warmed! The beef was incredibly delicious too. The owner even designed his own cards, and they have Chinese on them! We chatted with the owner during dinner using our broken English, and he told us he designed all the interior decorations himself, which is really impressive. The bathroom sink in the room is also quite unique, and there were even bookmarks on the bed. All in all, getting two meals included offers excellent value for money!

The hotel is about a 5-minute drive from Tobu Nikko Station, but they offer a shuttle bus service, which is quite convenient. We booked breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and the food was decent. The room had a wooden design, with a natural woody scent, making it perfect for relaxing and a slow-paced vacation. The hotel owner is an artist and would proactively chat with guests during dinner. Compared to chain hotels, this one is smaller and more refined! If you like trying different vibes, you might want to give it a shot.

I visited Nikko mostly for this hotel, and it turned out to be even more wonderful than I expected. It's been a long time since I've had such a top-notch French meal, which was truly memorable. Every corner of the hotel was brimming with design, and all the staff provided professional service with a smile. Thank you for your hospitality; I look forward to staying here again next time.

This concept hotel in Nikko had been on my radar for a while. The guest rooms and lounge, meticulously designed by the owner, Mr. Tomiyama, exude a depth you won't find in other hotels. It made for a uniquely charming trip, something big chain hotels just can't offer. It was also very educational, as the owner personally served our meals and chatted with us! If you prefer typical, pristine hotels or well-known brands, this might not be for you. However, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a travel experience that's a bit out of the ordinary! Finally, please note that the mountain view rooms do not have bathtubs, and there's no large public bath on site. So, if a good bath is a priority for you, this might not be the best choice.
