Mua Caves Ecolodge (Hang Mua)

Good service and staff. Nice place to stay. Good food. Nice pool and cocktails around pool. Nice clean room. We have a wonderful time in ninh binh. Good restaurant around a near area. Cold bear and juce. I recommend for big groups. See you next time for sure.

The worst hotel in Vietnam We had rats (and a frog) in the room. They came in through several holes in the room. One of the nights we didn't sleep at all for fear of the rat that we saw and heard walking and gnawing. The next day we discovered a backpack destroyed by the rat and also the excrements of the rat. The worst thing came when we took the situation to the hotel and they only offered us an apology. The situation was really unacceptable and after much discussion we were only offered a one night discount, something we should not even have asked for. That was definitely the worst thing.

Lovely hotel with great rooms (but annoying shower in bathtub situation) but it’s literally at the entrance to Hang Mua viewpoint so it’s very very crowded and noisy during the day and eerily deserted at night. But very helpful staff who gave us breakfast at 6.30 in the morning (and good breakfast too).

Stayed in the bungalow for 2 nights. The room was ok, but the bathroom was not great. I could smell the toilet as soon as we were shown our bungalow for our stay which was not impressive, so we had to close the door every time. The bathroom looked half done. There was no shower, just a bathtub with a shower head that sat waist high, which meant it was very awkward for those that don’t want to use the bath. The mirror was too large at the sink that the corner was over part of the nailed shut window. The bungalow we stayed at was near the massage and spa place along with pool tables next to it. This was noisy in the mornings. The only saving grace was the view outside the bungalow, and being able to enjoy the mountain at sunrise before visitors arrive during the day. They had a restaurant located on site which closes around 9.30pm. The food was standard and nothing special, and the first morning they didn’t have a breakfast buffet. Instead they had a given us a menu which was hand written, and told to pick what we wanted to order for breakfast. The options were very limited and my noodles were very oily. I would save my money and stay elsewhere, or just take the day trip from Hanoi. It may have been worthwhile if we chose a different lodging option but I definitely would not be running back to stay. The staff were nice and booked us taxis into town as there was not much nearby to eat something decent. I left feeling extremely disappointed, and initially when we booked the room the photos seemed to show a different story. I wish I took photos to show the disappointment, but it was the last thing on our mind.

The hotel is lovely, our room had great views from both the room and the balcony. The food at the restaurant was great value and delicious. The only downside was that during the day it was really busy and quite noisy as the hotel is part of a main tourist attraction. However if you climb up hang mua and do the caves fairly early in the morning/evening and then plan excursions for the day then it’s ideal as the evenings are so peaceful and the area looks very pretty with lanterns everywhere.

Location location location, Hotel is really good but we were there in low season and they were undergoing work for the upcoming spring. The staff all speak fluent English and are really polite. Definitely would stay here again in warm weather season. The only real criticism is that the linen has probably seen to many visitors and was clean but very marked. Rooms have air-conditioning and heating. You can rent bikes and scooters to visit nearby Tam Coc. Lots of little local places to eat so food is no problem. You can also eat at the hotel.

the best place to stay in Ninh Binh! The location was fantastic and if you stay here, you get free entrance into Mua Caves. our stay was excellent and so convenient. we got a nice variety for breakfast which is included in the price. the room was spacious and had a bathtub and an extra bed! Super clean and our highlight was the lotus garden infront of our room! We had a great view of the mountains and the Mua Caves as well. The hotel itself was not crowded and we even saw some mountain goats. we took their bicycles (which come free with the hotel too) and roamed to nearby coffee shops! Great overall! Highly recommend staying here as it also accessible to other activities like Tam Coc River and cafes

This hotel is not like advertised. It is in the middle of a very busy tourist site. The hotel is old and the rooms very small and not in good shape. Not as represented by photos. Nothing 'eco' about it. Stay away from it!
