We arrived from our Anantara resort in Oman, which was perfect. However, we arrived at the Alila Hotel around 4 PM, and that's when the horror began. It was the worst service I've ever experienced in any luxury hotel. For a luxury resort with a room rate of $600 per night, such terrible service is appalling. I wonder how Hyatt trains its staff and how they develop their general manager! Our room could accommodate two adults and two children. We also had a 5-year-old child with us. The email they sent before our arrival stated that extra beds were available, and adding a child over 4 years old cost 15 riyals. Initially, the hotel gave us a beautiful room with a view of the cliffside pool, which we were very happy with. When we asked for an extra bed, the hotel quoted 100 riyals instead of 15, and finally settled on 60 riyals, a huge difference from the email price. Furthermore, we couldn't stay in the room with the beautiful view; we had to change to another room that had no view at all, and we didn't like it. We offered to pay 60 riyals but insisted on staying in our original room, which the hotel refused! From around 4 PM to 6 PM, with less than an hour until the cliffside pool closed at 7 PM, I immediately decided that there would be only four of us (one adult and three children) staying there, so we wouldn't have to change rooms. I planned to drive out and find another hotel that night. The children started swimming, but they only had half an hour. At 7 PM, the staff started rushing us out! After swimming, we drove down the mountain for dinner. We had wanted to book the hotel's cliffside restaurant beforehand, but the hotel had a minimum spending requirement of 30 riyals per person + 22% tax, which shocked us. The entire booking process was incredibly arrogant. After swimming, we checked the restaurant, and there was only one table of customers. Fortunately, there was a fun food market down the mountain that day, and we enjoyed food and played local games. We had a wonderful time until it closed at 11 PM! I booked a room at the foot of the mountain to take the four of them back to their hotel. I planned to stay overnight at the bottom. When I entered the lobby, I told the front desk I'd only be there for 15 minutes to bathe the children and put them to bed. My car was parked outside. Less than 10 minutes later, a call came from room service demanding I leave. The staff were extremely rude and aggressive! The next morning, I returned to the hotel at 9:00 AM. We wanted to have breakfast as a family, including a five-year-old child. Normally, breakfast at a top-tier luxury hotel with a five-year-old would cost a maximum of $40 USD. However, the manager told us it would cost 60 riyals (equivalent to $160 USD), which shocked us. This was an outrageous price! Is Alila a rip-off by the Hyatt group? It's appalling! We immediately decided that one father would take the three children to eat, while the other would wait in the lobby. At this point, a woman from the hotel lobby came to the restaurant and, citing our extra guest, demanded that one of us leave the hotel immediately within 15 minutes. I explained that we were a family and that I would show one of our children around the hotel after our meal. I had also checked Hyatt's regulations, and there was no clause prohibiting guests from meeting friends or touring the hotel. From 9 to 10 a.m., the hotel staff, from the restaurant manager to the front desk manager, took turns making things difficult for us simply because we hadn't paid the extra 60 riyals the day before. We hadn't even had our much-anticipated cliffside breakfast by 10 a.m., and with two hours left before checkout, all our vacation mood was ruined. At 10 a.m., our five-year-old child, seeing the adults arguing with the hotel manager, was both hungry and scared, and started crying loudly, but not a single hotel employee came to check on the child. Based on the breakfast situation, the hotel should have only had five families checking in that day. Because our argument and our child's crying disturbed other guests' meals, we complained to the restaurant, and the manager came over again, saying, "You're disturbing other guests' meals." We were furious. Aren't we guests too? The hotel failed to provide any of the expected services to us and our children. The restaurant manager immediately fell silent, realizing the service was inadequate. The receptionist also left, and then the general manager was called in. He asked us to explain what had happened, which surprised us again. He insisted that his staff should have informed us, and we demanded that the woman in question come to confront him. The general manager refused, claiming it was all our fault and citing various hotel policies without offering any reassurance. Finally, we firmly stated that we had not received any service from the hotel and that we still had two hours of vacation left, hoping for some pleasant memories. Only then did the general manager stop arguing and allow us to begin breakfast. The rushed breakfast lasted only half an hour, and by 11:00 AM the children were changing and swimming. We recorded the entire incident in front of hotel staff and will provide all recordings if necessary. In short, this hotel boasts a perfect view, but the terrible service will be unforgettable! Our mistake was having three children staying there, and all three wanting to share a room. We are willing to pay a reasonable price, not an exorbitant one!

It's OK, but the price/performance ratio is low. Rock climbing in the hotel is recommended.

The hotel rises on a cliff, with beautiful views, and the swimming pool has hot water. Even when watching the sunset at dusk, you can slowly enjoy it in the swimming pool. In addition, the hotel also provides many free activities. Although I did not have time to participate, they all seemed very attractive.

This is my second visit to Oman and the first time I visited Alila Jabal Akhdar. The temperature in the mountains at this time is + 25C, which is very comfortable for traveling. The hotel is amazing! Since everything is based on the concept of being as eco-friendly as possible, there are no plastic bottles here, and even in the bathroom the bath line (shampoos, conditioners, liquid soap) is poured into ceramic containers. From my point of view, this is a controversial decision, since all these containers slip out of your hands and it is quite problematic to get the right amount of detergent from a ceramic vessel without a dispenser. I would like the hotel management to either provide for the installation of dispensers on the entire bath line, as is done in public areas, or still offer guests to use plastic containers. The service in the hotel is impeccable. I am delighted with the hospitality, from the reception to cleaning the room. My room was very spacious, with a beautiful view of the mountains and the pool. I am attaching the photos. During my stay the hotel was not at its maximum capacity, so the pool was practically my own. Breakfast at the hotel is chosen from the menu and the waiters are in a hurry to fulfill any of your wishes, remaining invariably friendly and efficient. Dinner at the hotel was incredibly delicious. I chose local fish and a non-alcoholic cocktail. The presentation of the dishes, the mountains surrounding you, the silence, the starry sky and the wonderful taste create an indescribable experience! If you have the opportunity to go to Oman, I would definitely recommend visiting Alila Jabal Akhdar. It is worth trying.

Except for too many mosquitoes, everything else was very good. There was a female manager in the lounge? Or someone in some other position, but her attitude was a bit strange. The staff in other restaurants and hotels were very nice, and I even bought a drink. I haven't played indoor rock climbing, but I have completed outdoor rock climbing! Butt slides are useful. If you feel that there is no place to step, just lower your center of gravity and slide down. There was water in the cave, and two Gulf guys in the same group fell down. I slid down steadily. Although my pants were ruined, it was really stable and I didn't fall. I will come back again! P.S. If you book both Alila and Annatara at the same time, find a driver outside the hotel to pick you up, pay attention to the price. I found a driver to pick me up from Muscat to the foot of the mountain, and another driver from the foot of the mountain to the hotel. The price of this part is reasonable. But the price between the two hotels is slightly higher. It costs 20omn to find Alila to pick up from Annatara to the hotel, and 15 for the driver outside.

Definitely a hotel worth a special trip. You need to drive a four-wheel drive to get there, and there are many curves along the way. Valleys, cliffs, sunrises, sunsets, stargazing, all kinds of scenery are top-notch. The restaurant is also good. The chef’s Hunan steamed fish with chopped pepper is something he learned from the Hunanese.

A very special cliff hotel. The hotel is on the edge of the cliff. The room looks out to the Grand Canyon. The interior of the room is very clean. There are indoor and outdoor hot spring pools and an infinity pool overlooking the Grand Canyon. The main food you eat is Arabic and Western food. In the morning, you order in a self-service format. You need to speak good English, otherwise the food you order may not be what you want. There is a small hiking route in the hotel, which is suitable for family outings. There are many marine animal fossils on the route, and there are supporting publicity boards introducing the fossils and surrounding creatures. Those who are brave and physically fit can try canyon rock climbing.

This hotel should be the best hotel I have stayed in Oman. The room is very big and the view is not ordinary. The hotel built on the edge of the cliff, you can watch the sunrise and sunset, very beautiful. The breakfast was also very good, and the service staff were very nice and helpful. Regarding the service of the hotel, the view is impeccable. The only thing to note is: if you are driving by yourself, you must drive a four-wheel drive up the mountain, otherwise the police at the checkpoint at the bottom of the mountain will not let you go up the mountain. Just before I went up the mountain, I went to the car rental company to re-rent a four-wheel drive up the mountain (the local four-wheel drive rents about 30 to 50 riyals a day). If you don’t want to rent a car and drive by yourself, you can make an appointment with the hotel 48 hours in advance and let the hotel arrange a car to pick you up at the foot of the mountain, but the cost is very high, and the round-trip fare is 130 riyals. It's also worth mentioning that if you don't want to eat the hotel's dinner, you have to bring food up there, and you basically can't find a place to buy food after you go up. If you choose to dine at the hotel, basically the cheapest is about 15 riyals per person.

The hotel is full of Arabic elements and has a refreshing feeling. It is a shining star in nature and is worth staying.
