Courtyard North Charleston Airport/Coliseum

The initial staff interaction was mixed. She sent us to a dirty room that had excrement on the toilet and hair in the shower. When I changed rooms. She stated that she would get my room rate lowered for the inconvenience. The hotel is a dump. The pool is not open and this was not conveyed so I could have an opportunity to change hotels. They do not have breakfast. The bar they have is not staffed. The general staff “bartend” when someone is needed. There was no hot water!! There was a letter from the general manager stating that we could check out without penalty. However, when I went downstairs to talk to the very rude person at the front desk, she refused to honor the letter. I was stuck!! When I checked out the front desk person was nice and took notes of all the issues. At this time I had not been charged and I had no idea how much I would be charged at this point. Now, a week later they charged my account for the full amount!! They gave me points. I don’t give a crap about points!! They also don’t price match as the Bonvoy site states they are supposed to. The published rate not on Bonvoy was half what I paid!! I’m a frequent user of Marriot… but if this is not taken care of they will lose my business!!

As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I stay at a lot of Marriott properties. This place was an absolute travesty. Granted, they are going through an update, but no gym, it smelled musty, the outside was a disaster. Just a dirty feeling walking through the hotel. Went to my room and said “I don’t think so. “ Cancelled the reservation and went to the Marriott up the street. Hopefully they get it together. There should be some information on the Marriott site about “under construction”

This place hasn’t been cleaned or inspected in a very long time. It gave the impression of a place that was going bankrupt. I attached the photos. When I walked in the room I go on the balcony and step on vomit. There was vomit on the balcony ledge as well. It was dried up and you can tell it had been there for a while. - Furniture is very worn (broken and has nicks). -Bathroom shower missing caulking and broken pieces. -Towels dingy. -No hot water (only lukewarm) to shower with. - Standard coffee that comes with room was missing (only decaf ). - Called front desk and the phone was filthy (lots of dirt and grime) like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. -Pool unavailable because it has a crack in it. -Cloth furniture in bistro stained (yuck)! -Different staff members didn’t know about the elite benefits (am Platinum). One positive is that most of the staff was polite. Read the other reviews. They are true.

I wish I could leave NEGATIVE STARS. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! The hotel under construction was the LEAST of our issues here. The staff was rude, and the room was DISGUSTING. We found a DRUG SCALE in the sofa bed that my CHILD was supposed to sleep on along with stains that looked like someone DIED on the mattress. THEN when it was brought to the staffs attention they didn’t at all care, and never sent anyone to retrieve the scale so it sat in the room. We stayed for as little amount of time as possible, in fear we would catch herpes or some other disease from who knows what that goes on in that hotel.

I left my bag in room #312 and texted the hotel using the Marriott app on 5/5/2024. The last text message said they would send me the FedEx confirmation number, which I never received. The app chat capability disappeared due to being checked out. I did not reconnect with them because I planned to return to the same hotel a week later. When I arrived at the hotel, they returned the bag, but my Apple AirPods were missing. I talked with the front desk, but they knew nothing about it. I checked the device location last week on my iPhone, and it's showing the Charleston home address near the hotel. 1542, 1533 and 1537 Greenbay Dr. Charleston, SC 29406. The houses are very close, so it shows 3 addresses, but they are all nearby. My Apple AirPods even vacationed from the Charlotte International Airport to Jamaica. I emailed the corporate site 3 more times, but they all said, "We will contact you within three to five business days, but no answer was given to me. I stay at Hilton and Marriott properties 200+ nights a year (Lifetime Diamond on Hilton and Titanium Elite on Marriott) and leave many personal items, but they are always returned to me. This is a first-time experience, and it's very concerning to me and my co-workers. I sent three more emails about it, but they never returned my emails. Stay away from this one!
