The Valley of Rocks Hotel

A truly exceptional location and recently refurbished, this hotel is excellent.  The staff were amazing, the lady on the front desk gave us a free up graded room and corrected the dates of our stay , thank you very much …!!! 👏👍😀

I stayed for one night in a single room. I was pleased with my accommodation considering the relatively low price paid. I was walking the coastal path and didn’t want to pay lots for hotel accommodation as that was not the purpose of my travel. The location was excellent: good for accessing the coastal path and for finding somewhere to eat. I even went to the Lynton cinema which was a small quaint building a few mins walk away b The room was clean and comfortable. I had somewhere comfortable to stay on a wet day and make hot tea. The building is very large and old Victorian and it is nice to see people wanting to keep such a building going. . It is clear that money and care has been put into the main communal areas. The decor in some other areas is a little shabby but I don’t care when it is clean. It would cost a huge amount of money to fully refurbish a building of that size and would take time.

Hostel not Hotel This does not qualify as a hotel. It is a hostel. All you get is a room. There is no food no bar no service. The lift doesn't work and according to reviews it hasn't been working for at least a month but we were not advised of this in advance. Room was pleasant and bed comfy but it was extremely expensive for just a room. Website advertised breakfast, snacks, a bar and a lift none of which were available. Greatly misleading.

Worst hotel stay I have ever had. I had 8 rooms booked for a stay with friends. No hot water for showers etc, toilets broken or blocked! Rooms were unclean on arrival. Lifts were out of use. Not to mention one room had money go missing.

Lifts not working but they did put us on first floor on request No food available no hot water mould in shower

Great location, great staff, property in need of lots of maintenance, lift out of use, kitchen closed so no food, bar shut, building very run down and out dated.
