I needed to stay there as I was in Fairbanks working a wildfire. Out team was spread out all over and this was the only place I could find. When I mad my reservations, I said that I would be staying UP TO 7 days. They immediately charged my credit card for the whole stay. I ended up staying 3 nights until our incident command was set up and I had to leave. They would not refund that extra 4 days siting a 7 day cancellation policy. I am now out over $800 out of pocket. I was told I would be refunded part of it if my cabin was rented. I checked on ******* and it was not available the couple days I had time to check so it was rented but they say it wasn't and won't refund

We received a call after booking and were told that our cabin wasn’t available for the two nights we booked online. Additionally, due to the housekeeper quitting, we couldn’t have the cabin for the night it was available because it wouldn’t be turned over in time. We were offered a cabin with two twins at the same price. Two adults in a twin bed is not the anniversary trip we were looking forward to. Furthermore; they no longer offer breakfast (there’s jimmy dean sandwiches in the freezer which were only provided once for the two days we stayed) and they don’t have WiFi. This was problematic as we essentially chose to not do an off the grid cabin so I could get work done in the evening while staying up for the lights. While I understand that the family has medical issues and other business endeavors they are dealing with; it was very expensive for a dry cabin and in a peak week; there was nowhere else we could go once we received the call. Lower the prices or meet the amenities offered online. Fairly simple.

The cabin was quite and the ok. I was disappointed by the breakfast option. Just a frozen breakfast sandwich in the freezer and a microwave. No regular creamer for the coffee, just one flavored one.

There were a few detractors from the cabins, but they were overwhelmed by the positives by far. You should note that the cabins' bathrooms are detached, but they are clean with good hot running water. The few trout in the lake are catch and release only, but there is an unlimited amount in Birch Lake, just 45 minutes down the road. Jim is more than willing to give you all the pointers or advice to bring them home. Also, the Wifi was down when I was there. However, that was because of a storm. Despite these setbacks, the cabins were an incredibly good place to stay. I saw beavers and sand bill cranes while staying there, the nature around was incredible, and Jim did everything possible to make my stay as good as it could be. When he learned I was interested in gold panning, he personally took me to two spots within 15 minutes of Fairbanks where I could pan for all the gold I wanted, and he gave me pointers on methods and techniques. You won't get that service at the local hotels.

I loved my stay here, everything was clean, and cleaning products provided for guests to help clean up after themselves in the shared bathroom, and those where awesome, never had to wait even with full cabin, clean and had everything youd need. The cabin is beautiful and pretty private and quiet for being right next to another one. Id give my stay a 10 out of 19 would recommend

The cabins had a comfy feel and was nice to open the windows and hear the rain at night.

The cabins are very nice, great for a getaway. The only negative is there is no running water in the cabin (they do provide a pitcher with water) and the shared bathroom. But those are very small things, I had no issues going to the public bathroom. Overall these cabins are perfect for a weekend getaway, 5 out of 5 stars.
