We are privileged to be able to stay in many resorts and hotels around the world. But Springs is definitely worth mentioning. The room, location, food , treatments and staff could not find fault in anything. Nothing was too ever too much trouble and would particularly like to mention the following people who went over and above and out of their way to make sure we had a lovely time. They were Dominique, Naomi, Annette and Millie. I have no hesitation in recommending Champneys Springs and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you. Lance Haggith OBE

I had a wonderful and relaxing break with my sisters. The grounds were absolutely stunning, and the location was perfect. The food was delicious, and the massage was incredibly rejuvenating—exactly what I needed! A special thanks to Jude from housekeeping, who went above and beyond by posting my charger to my home address after I accidentally left it in my room. Her kindness and effort made such a difference. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be returning!

I regularly visit Champneys for a spa day or a short break, but the last two times have been poor. On a previous spa day, I asked to change the time of my treatment. There was availability, and I was told it was no problem, then suddenly £60 was taken out of my account without my consent. I was told it was a "computer glitch" and would be back in my account within five working days. The lad on the desk was clearly inexperienced and said he would get his manager, disappeared upstairs, and simply never returned. The money was returned, and whilst inconvenient, I thought little of it. Today, I came for a short one-night stay, relaxing by the pool, there were three young lads, around 18, who sat taking photos of guests (in swimwear) on their phones, playing music on their speakers, shouting and swearing. When I asked (politely) if they wouldn't mind using their headphones and keeping it down, they became verbally abusive and aggressive. Another couple moved away, and I went and reported it to the manager, James. James told me it wasn't the first time there had been issues with these lads; my question is so why has nothing been done? He asked me to write a statement, what a lovely way to spend your holiday! Again today, nothing was done about it, they remained there being vile, whilst I have spent my hard-earned money and annual leave to come here as a treat. Finally, after coming to my room, I found a dead beatle in my bed. It was very dead, so clearly, it had been there when the bed was made up. In summary, it is not relaxing, not a premium experience, and there is little care from the staff.

I regularly visit Champneys for a spa day or a short break, but the last two times have been poor. First a positive, the place has had a refurb of the communal areas which was much needed and has greatly improved the feel of the place. On a previous spa day, I asked to change the time of my treatment. There was availability, and I was told it was no problem, then suddenly £60 was taken out of my account without my consent. I was told it was a "computer glitch" and would be back in my account within five working days. He asked me to write a statement, what a lovely way to spend your holiday! Again today, nothing was done about it at the time, they remained there being vile, whilst I have spent my hard-earned money and annual leave to come here as a treat. I am aware other guests had issues the previous day also. Finally, after coming to my room, I found a dead beatle in my bed. It was very dead (crispy), so clearly, it had been there when the bed was made up. There is one member of staff who has consistently been kind, responsive and helpful when issues have arose, and that is Naomi who works at reception. She was no different this time, to the point I have edited my review to make sure the positives of this stay were included. She sent an apology gift to my room which was much appreciated and has in the past on previous visits helped resolve minor problems (including those of my own making, like a forgotten charger). Her customer service skills are exemplary.

Stayed for one night in June 2024 on a business trip. The good bits: - Lovely setting, peaceful surroundings - Warm and efficient welcome and check-in - Gym is well-equipped and maintained (used it), spa looked clean (didn't use it) - Generally young staff are friendly and spectacularly efficient (almost scarily so) That's about it for the good bits. Now on to the less good bits: - Hotel sections are tired with stained and threadbare carpets, battered woodwork, stained and patched paintwork - Standard room was extremely hot with no means to turn the heating down, and windows only open a couple of inches. I imagine it being unbearable in warmer weather - Room fittings were Travelodge grade, all heavily worn and in need of replacement. Paintwork stained, door hinges misaligned, a tiny TV from about 1997. Thin, solid mattress (which I was OK with) without a proper topper so it still had a gap between the two halves. Only one bedside table (slightly weird) - Room was not clean, cobwebs all over the walls and corners (I've never stayed in a room with so many that I felt inspired to take a photo), dust on most surfaces, dirty headboard - Restaurant is fixed price menu and must be booked in advance for both dinner and breakfast. The 'back' restaurant where I was seated was absolutely devoid of atmosphere, I'd be heartbroken if that had been a supposed romantic dinner for two. Service was too fast, I had three courses in front of me within 30 minutes of arrival - Sat down and then had to prise each item of cutlery off the sticky table. Made the mistake of putting my phone down, then had to prise that off too and clean it - Food was very poor for the money. A refrigerated caesar salad with what I strongly suspect was tartare sauce from a jar on it was weird. The lamb biryani was a small rice slop that was exactly like a dehydrated camping curry, it had the taste and texture of scooping the contents of a microwaveable pie into some cold rice and stirring it up. Paid an £8 supplement for a cheeseboard that had 3 small under-ripe pieces of cheese, a few biscuits and grapes and (even more weird) a small pot of mint jelly - Breakfast was a small, limited buffet of reasonable quality. Any cooked options are extra, and it's a really peculiar menu without any classics on it. As I left disappointed I noticed other guests coming from the main restaurant with warm porridge, which would have been nice to know about before I gave in on the food I didn't bother complaining at the time, the staff were doing a very efficient job of the things they did well and this presumably isn't there fault; and reception was closed when I did try to have a word. Definitely wouldn't stay again for what it cost - the spa looks great, but if all the rooms are like this, avoid staying.

Have just finished a three day stay at Champney's Springs - and we were thrilled with the accommodation, venue, food an impeccable service from the staff. Our room was spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. We used the warm pool several times and the various extras around the pool like sauna, steam room etc. some of us took complimentary classes which were well pitched for the varied abilities of the groups. There were excellent choices at the buffets for breakfast and lunch and we were presented with a robust menu at dinner to cater for most tastes. We very much enjoyed our meals. There is a very calm atmosphere at Champney's Springs and it is a wonderful place to relax. Highly recommended.

I booked a spa day as a surprise for my partner. I had high hopes after looking at the website and knowing the reputation of the brand. I was left very disappointed for a number of reasons; the pool was cold, hydro pool luke warm (neither were a pleasant experience) sat by the pool i had to put a towel over my legs because I was cold. The whole place seems a bit run down in places, missing tiles, broken showers, leaks above one of the toilets. The communal sauna is tiny and fits 4 people max making it uncomfortable but that is the only communal facility. The steam rooms are not unisex so as a couple we couldn't enjoy them together. So if just book a spa day as a couple the only thing's you can do is use the cold swimming pool or try and squeeze into the sauna. At one point there was an aquafit class in the pool with music. All in all it had the vibe of sitting by a pool at a gym not a spa! We both had a massage which was the best part of the day but you are obviously paying more for it. All in all not worth the money by a long shot and I would not recommend. You would be better off going to the local leisure centre, it would probably be warmer!

So disappointed; doesn't live up to Champneys standards at all, and was overall very bad value for money. The spa was outdated, absolutely crowded and too cold, and the jacuzzi was lukewarm - two of the saunas were not in use, and the changing rooms were mouldy. Food was ok, very bland and limited - almost all options also had a surcharge, which felt unnecessary. Breakfast was awful; very poor value for money, a piece of fruit, some beans and some granary toast - all actual cooked options were surcharges. The worst spa I have ever visited. The only good thing was the gym.
