George Inn

Arrived at 3pm on date confirmed. Knocked on door and windows, rang bell, phoned lots of times, walked around premises but was unable to make anyone hear. Even visited the shop over the road to see if they knew if everything was ok. Was told the landlord was usually there. Finally after nearly 2 hours we wrote a note which we pushed through the door to cancel reservation. The faded menu outside which was in a glass case had come unstuck so it was unreadable and in general the whole place looked rundown. Thankfully when I contacted ******* a little while later and explained what had happened they were able to speak to the owner who said he had found our note and they cancelled our reservation.

The pub is all but closed, restaurant and bar not open during my stay. Breakfast included is boxes of cereal in room. Bathroom not that clean, shower in poor condition. Decor very tired. Fair amount of road noise and you can easily hear the owner creaking around upstairs

George was really nice and welcoming , but the room smelt very stale and not very clean unfortunately

Avoid The room smelt of sewage, the owner/server was unhelpful and they did not serve food despite the fact the site saying they had a restaurant. The smell was that overpowering i had to stay in another establishment

Great value Lovely host. Charming little room. Free onsite parking. Comfy bed. Perfect for a night to crash and great value.

Don’t stay here I am not normally someone to complain but I was very disappointed with this accommodation that I need to warn others. I booked in an Inn expecting to be able to get an evening meal but the place was deserted, run down and the room cold and dirty. The breakfast consisted of a choice of three small cereal boxes with. Self made. Tea and coffee in the room. The worst thing was the sheets appeared to have been already slept in and were stained and the duvet was so thin it was like sleeping under a sheet. I had to get dressed and put my coat on the get warm. This is probably the worst place I have ever stayed in and at £65 was a complete rip off even £25 would have been expensive.
