Some parts of the Schindlerhof Hotel are very pleasant—esp. the Japanese garden and the restaurant. Other elements are somewhat disappointing—e.g. room amenities. No bathrobes. And a “cosmetics bar” where guests are invited to BUY basic amenities like moisturizing lotion. Seems a bit tawdry for a hotel that aspires to ‘luxury’ status.

We stayed one night on our way to Austria from The Netherlands and it met the purpose. A no nonsense hotel with a clean room that was well equipped. We were very pleased with the ev charging station behind the hotel. We skipped breakfast so all in all a quick encounter and we will stay here again if the occasion arises.

A lot of attention and significant budgets have been devoted to the layout of the Ryokan suites. Special mention should be made of the sliding frames with integrated blinds. The occasional low-flying planes are not too inconvenient. The room cleaners take their work very seriously: even the bathroom sink drain is polished! It is all the more unfortunate to see that the technical maintenance is not at the same level. See photo of the shower seal in suite 215, which should have been replaced a long time ago. The staff is very friendly. Special mention for the professionalism of the restaurant's Head Waiter. A suggestion: install surveillance cameras in the establishment's private car park. This might have prevented someone from scratching the side of my vehicle for almost two metres using a key.

The hotel has won many awards, which is also reflected in the prices. We were really looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately, the breakfast waitress, Ms. R. Lu, was extremely unfriendly to us, apparently just annoyed by the guests, which was extremely unprofessional overall. On the day of departure, housekeeping was at the door long before check-out time and insisted on cleaning the room. Overall, we would not recommend it.

We love coming here to unwind! The service is professional, which is unfortunately not so common anymore! The menu changes and there is a daily special with recommendations! We even have a meat aging cabinet now! Lots of little nooks and crannies and always something new to discover! Reservations are essential! Lots of events on the weekend! We love coming here!

The Schindlerhof almost gives the impression of a small village. The hotel is ideal for visits to Nuremberg or Erlangen. It is very conveniently located for Nuremberg Airport and the A3 and A73 motorways. In the middle of the complex there is a Japanese-style pond. The rooms in the nearest building are decorated in a matching style. Very spacious and very well equipped, although minimalist. Bathroom with tub and shower, WiFi, modern TV, safe, fridge and, above all, very good beds. The sounds of planes taking off can be heard. This didn't bother us much, although it is otherwise absolutely quiet. Check in and out were friendly and problem-free. The room was very clean.

We spent two nights at this hotel as part of a family celebration. We had a large room with a roof terrace (which we didn't use at that time of year). The room was clean and specially designed (there were obviously various motorcycle rooms available). The entire complex makes a good impression - but is also a bit built up. The breakfast was OK, but we weren't particularly impressed. It takes more than 30 minutes to get to Nuremberg city center by car - I can't comment on the public transport connections. We got a special price as part of the family celebration, the normal price was relatively high. Overall, it's definitely recommended, but in my opinion the price-performance ratio is too high.

Bewertung: 2/5 Sterne Ich habe den Schindlerhof über Jahre hinweg als außergewöhnliches Hotel mit Charme, Innovationskraft und echter Gastfreundschaft erlebt. Umso enttäuschender ist der aktuelle Eindruck: Keine Spur mehr von gelebter Kundenbegeisterung, stattdessen ein reduzierter Standardservice ohne echte Herzlichkeit. Die Zimmer sind deutlich in die Jahre gekommen, Mobiliar und Ambiente wirken abgewohnt. Vom einstigen Vorzeigehotel unter Klaus Kobjoll ist wenig geblieben. Wer den Mythos von früher kennt, erlebt heute leider nur noch eine blasse Kopie. Sehr schade um dieses einst so beeindruckende Lebenswerk.

Wir waren hier eine Nacht auf der Durchreise. Tolle, familiäre Anlage. Sehr nettes Personal. Zimmer okay, aber nichts besonders, unseres war zur Straße raus. Der nächtliche Fluglärm tats sein übriges. An Schlaf war mit geöffnetem Fenster nicht zu denken. Geschlossenes Fenster heißt leider auch sehr warm und schlechte Luft, da keine Klimaanlage vorhanden. Keinen gute Erfahrung, weiterhin sollte ein Wasserkocher für einen morgendlichen Kaffee sollte inzwischen Standard sein. Überragend ist jedoch das Restaurant. Hier haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
