Hambleton Hall

I had always wanted to stay here when I lived in the UK but I had an excuse to visit on my recent trip from Australia and it was the highlight. 3 of us stayed in 2 rooms. The best welcome to any hotel ever with 2 staff joining to welcome us. We were taken to our rooms and shown everything that mattered. Adam struggled with our luggage without a murmur. We had afternoon tea in the beautiful lounge ( although we thought it was included lol). The decor was in keeping with the ambiance of the house. We had pre booked dinner so started off with drinks and amuse bouche in the lounge. Then for a magical dinner. It was my daughter’s special birthday and they had produced a personalised menu for her to take away. But the food was incredible and the service from the Maitre’d, Sommelier and staff was faultless. Good choice of courses. Difficult to choose which dessert to have but one of us had cheese which was served from a trolley by an expert. We had liqueurs in the bar served by a knowledgeable bartender. Breakfast was equally great. Choice from a menu and the big breakfast included black pudding. Pastries were from their bakery and were superb. Our rooms were very comfortable and I had the biggest bathroom ever. Comfortable bed and very relaxing environment. We strolled down to Rutland Water after breakfast and then checked out - again with an appreciative staff. I am running out of superlatives. So how about ‘fantastic’ to finish?

The food here is stunning, we had the Sunday lunch and it was delicious. The staff are so attentive and any issues are immediately dealt with and resolved. Such gorgeous food and the location is beautiful. Would highly recommend for some top class fine dining at a reasonable price. Thank you all staff, wonderful experience.

Lovely lunch with my elderly parents who really enjoyed the excellent food and service. All courses were superb with the usual Hambleton twists to what you think you might have ordered! Afterwards we sat out on the terrace enjoying the spring sunshine and drinking our coffee.

Impeccable service by friendly and attentive staff. The food was amazing and easily the best I've ever had. I only took photos of two courses but every course was incredible. True artistry!

We visited Hambleton Hall for our 45th wedding anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The staff were very pleasant. We would definitely go back for a return visit in the future.

There are lots of positives about this hotel; location, setting, service, facilities, comfort to name a few. BUT, it’s not a cheap place (in fact it’s expensive) so I would have at least expected tea and coffee to be available in the room. It seems such a stingy thing to omit. We weren’t blown away by bathroom either and I could imagine the shower would have been difficult to access if anyone had mobility issues. Overall very lovely but, for me, a couple of small improvements would have justified the expense.
