The hotel was great in many ways, and perfect for a family trip. I went to Oarai to attend their annual fireworks show and though this hotel is 50 mins by walk from the venue, the distance is manageable when the traffic was so bad after the show. It’s a pity I couldn’t enjoy the dinner due to the traffic, at least I got to enjoy the free ramen supper. One thing to mention about staff - we emailed the hotel to inquire about the access to the annual fireworks show when we made the booking, and staff told us it was easy to get to the venue by taxi. However on the event day, the front desk staff said the road is very congested every year and advised us to walk 50 mins, they also refused to get a taxi for us. For families travelling with elderly, it totally threw off our plan, and I wish the staff had more experience when providing information so we could make an informed decision based on records.

Fantastic hotel with great service and amenities. Rooms are clean and well maintained, with provided humidifier and window mesh if you want fresh air. Room service is prompt and unintrusive. The provided breakfast is free flow buffet, with a solid variety of locally sourced food, in typical japanese style, or western (japanese) breakfast style (scrambled eggs, pasta, baked sweet potato with cheese (gratin style). Dinner is catered to each guest. Almost every night will have a different meal, and will be prepped specifically for you. Do not miss it, it's as good or better than most restaurants in the area. You can get free flow of additional rice, or additional side dishes. The typical dinner would come w a local appetizer, sashimi platter, main course of hotpot, pan stove, or mini barbeque, another side dish, and a dessert. Can range from icecream, melon, or small cake. You can also book bike rentals (power assisted for uphill) at 2200 for a whole day, and other guided tours like surfing or fishing (you should speak japanese). Location wise, it's around a 40min-1h long walk to the town center, or a 15min cycle. It's close to nearby Hitachinaka fish market, Oarai aquarium, and beach. There are not many street lights at night. It is recommended to be back in the hotel by around 6pm for dinner etc. Water dispensers are in every level, and onsen in the basement. There is also vending machines and washing machine (500yen for both wash and dry - 2h)

The welcome drink, the tantanmen noodles at night, and the breakfast buffet were amazing! The service was great, the rooms were clean, and I'd love to come back! The view was amazing!

It appears to have been vacant from the former Kanpo no Yado, but the building was clean and the rooms had been renovated, making for a pleasant stay. The building is located along the mouth of the Nakagawa River and has large windows, offering a great view of Nakaminato. However, it felt simple, so the souvenir corner was small and other facilities were not great. The family bath is equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a hairdryer, but no facial cleanser, lotion, or emulsion, so it's best to bring your own. The room only had tea bags. The breakfast buffet was excellent, so I recommend it.

Delicious food, clean rooms, and complete amenities. Close to the pier, temples, and aquarium. Excellent service.

We stayed here for my sister's birthday. We received a free gift at the front desk for a drink at dinner. The room with an open-air bath was great. The dinner wasn't as good as we expected.

A decent hotel. The service was excellent. They offered free dandan noodles for a late-night snack. The hot springs were excellent. It happened to be the Lantern Festival, and the open-air baths, enjoying the cool breeze and bright moonlight, were quite relaxing. Just be sure to pay attention to the bus schedule from the hotel to the station. When booking, I thought it would run every hour, but it turned out to be only available at 15:10. Although we missed the shuttle, the bus was quite convenient. Just be sure to prepare small change in cash or PayPay. I personally think the 100-year-old plum wine is superb. Highly recommended.

This is my second time here. It's located on the banks of the Nakagawa River in Oarai, and the facilities are large, clean, and excellent. It's the perfect hotel for those who want to spend a relaxing and quiet time.

A hotel that local Japanese people go to

The room was renovated and clean. The bathroom was also clean and nice. However, the window frames were dirty, the screens were worn out, and the lace curtains were stained, which was disappointing.

It was great. The room is old, but it is well cleaned. The breakfast buffet offers a choice of rice bowls, and both Japanese and Western dishes are available. Everyone, including the front desk staff, was very friendly.

The room is too small. The view is great. The hot spring is very good.
