Corriemar House

Great location, lovely quiet room with a view, clean fresh bed linens. Comfotable stay. No staff, but easy to find our key and room upon arrival. There is no hot breakfast, but snacks, teas coffee, etc. are in the room. We did not want breakfast service, so perfect for us. Owners went above all expectations to help us with a parking issue on the day we departed. We would definitely stay at Corriemar Guesthouse again.

We stayed in Room 12 “KIng Room with Sea View” on top story of building. The room was comfortable and spacious. Comfortable bed. Great views from windows overlooking the water and the never-ending noiseless procession of large and small ferries. Ten spaces available for Off road parking but double parking for eight of those spaces. The process for handling it worked quite well. Paid parking on the road operated from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Quiet location just a short stroll into Oban CBD. Porridge Pots supplied for breakfast every day. Friendly and helpful managers. Small fridge in room.

Firstly it’s a good walk along the promenade from train station, it’s further away from town. On arriving couldn’t get an answer at front door for at least 15 minutes. The hostess wasn’t very informative about activities etc in the town. Our room was a twin facing onto back of building looking onto grey building and windows, so no view at all, there was also a funny smell in the room. The room was very small and badly lit with a cabinet used as a wardrobe, which was no good for full length clothes. On arriving we knew no breakfast was offered, for the price we paid we would have expected at least a continental breakfast but they left 2 porridge pots and 1 pack of 2 tiny biscuits, totally unacceptable. I would not return to this establishment

We had a lovely rear facing large room in this beautiful old building with two double beds and an ensuite for myself and wife. The room was modern, very clean and comfortable with a good electric shower. Now the inconvenient stuff. You don’t realise how much you miss breakfast until it’s missing. We were kind of aware that breakfast was not included although it’s confusing as on their website it’s stated as not included but also stated as optional for additional cost - although we weren’t approached to see if we wanted it. Book through Trip advisor and it’s stated as free. Anyway it’s not. What we did get on night 1 was : 2 porridge pots, 2 biscuits, tea/coffee and a single tea cake (….to share?). Fine we thought, we can plan for that and bought some croissants and bananas (no butter as no room fridge) for our 2 day stay thinking that at least we get porridge included. Anyway, much to our disappointment, the porridge was just for day one and that luxury wasn’t included on day 2 - something you only find out after a long day. On the plus side we did get another single tea cake….to share. Our experience was positive but any positivity destroyed for the sake of £1.50 porridge pots and a 20p tea cake. Really, at £130 per night? Worth it maybe if you get a view but not at the back. If your not too full after your half tea cake, I’d recommend The BAAB restaurant or the nearby Oban Bay hotel for eating evening meals, both with good food at reasonable cost.

A nice stay for a weekend in May. The bed was really comfy, and the room nice and warm. Although not staffed 24/7, the owner is always quick to respond to any enquiries and requests. We were recommended by a friend, and so glad we picked here. Hope to be back!

The location of Corriemar House in Oban is perfect. It is in a very nice walking distance from Oban city center, and has a very tranquillizing view of the harbour and the island of Kerrera. Nearby there are a range of walking trails easily accessible. The hosts are friendly and very easy going and were able to react quickly on our sudden need for accommodation. The room was cosy, clean and tidy, with all amenities one can need. One big advantage was the free parking on the premises.

A quaint old house. Clean but quirky. It would not suit all visitors. It was also a touch expensive for the global room price. Sorry, but I would look to stay elsewhere next visit to Oban. It is clean, has parking available but with no breakfast, certain rooms with awkward bed arrangements and no views, it is not really a great value

Me and my uncle visited for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was really nice & very spacious room with a large 4 poster bed and a single bed for me! Large telly with plenty of tea, coffee and even an irn bru! The owner was always available and very helpful. We stayed until the Monday on the day of the Queens funeral and I asked if we could stay a little while longer to watch the service and the host was very accommodating and left us do this which is appreciated. Will definitely be back thanks for that 10/10 thank you - Steven and James

Lovely room with fantastic views. Breakfast wasn't included but they leave biscuits tea coffee and porridge pots which was very much appreciated. Maybe they could also think about putting a small electric toaster in each room so you can buy a loaf of bread and a pack of butter to make toast with for breakfast. The view was absolutely stunning, especially when the sun was setting. I would definitely recommend and definitely return in the future. Situated within walking distance to the town centre and ferry port. The only minor criticism I can say is, there's no shelf in the shower to put shower gel, shampoo etc. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay.
