PROS: + Gorgeous attention to detail; everything from the taps to the carpets feels polished and beautifully designed + The views! The windswept seascape looks like something right out of a novel. + Even a basic room is spacious. + Soft bedding and crisp linens. + Service is impeccable. + Definitely take a meal at the restaurant, which features very fresh ingredients. Also friendly for vegetarians. + Was there for a conference, and the rooms for presenting are warm and inviting. CONS: - The closet in my room backed up to the closet in another room, so I could hear quite loudly their hangers, open/closing doors and drawers, etc. BOTTOM LINE Utterly charming. Feels both as if you are stepping away from the hustle-bustle, while maintaining a connection to modern comforts. Would return in a heartbeat.

Stayed here for one night due to a conference. The reception had lost my booking but the staff were very serviceminded and as an apology I was upgraded to "Strandsuiten" - the Beach Suite. Very nice room with two floors. Toilet and office upstairs and big bathroom and bedroom downstairs with views of the water and the bridge. Facilities look a bit worn, dark and old though. Did not have time to try the spa facilities but they looked nice. Checked afterwards the cost of a stay if I would go back for a private trip. I think the place is quite overpriced considering that it is in Nyborg and quite old and would unfortunately not stay here for my own money.

Hotel claims to have air conditioning. Room temp was in excess of 24C. Despite discussions with front desk, AC was non functional for 3 day stay. We were told to open our balcony door. The numerous nesting and cooing pigeons on the hotel roof made this alternative even less attractive. Housekeeping quality was marginal. Beds were not made on day 3. Breakfast service was lacking. A form of foul tasting coffee was served to the table unless we asked for the “different” kind. Impression is that this hotel is stuck in the 20th century. Rather than impressing guests with great service, it appears management is focused on controlling costs.

Excellent beachside location with view of Baltic and the magnificent Storebælt (The Great Belt Bridge). Pool, spa, tennis on premises. Walk out door to nature, historic sites, and shopping.

We spent one night in a nice room, with a great view to the sea. The room was more than enough, with everything we needed (see pictures). We also had dinner there. The food was very good, with different options, and every dish we tried was good. They also had the attention to bring something more appropriate to our 3 years old that is not used to a more fancy way of presenting the food. It was a very pleasant stay that we recommend!!

I was looking forward to our stay here, it was out most expensive accommodation for a 3 week trip. It was horrible. The check in girl was nice, but after that it went down hill. The room was a sauna. It was horribly hot so we thought we would just open the windows and get some air. Unfortunately it was surrounded by huge spiders and no screen to stop them from coming in. My husband killed a few in 1 window so we could open it for a few minutes but even he wasn’t getting near the big one (pic). No other resolution when we came to the front desk to tell them our room was so hot. Decided that well- if we are going to be hot we might as well enjoy our evening in the hot tub (a big reason we booked here) - but alas, it was cold. Again, no resolution for that from the front desk. They also don’t have towels down at the spa/pool area which was very odd- and if you didn’t look on the floor of the closet in your room under the slippers, you wouldn’t have known that’s where the towel is that you are supposed to take with you (we found it as we were leaving). It has a fridge, which was essential for us and a deciding factor (meds that need refrigerated) - but it didn’t work. Come morning, everything is warm and destroyed. We didn’t sleep well at all with the room so hot (it had to be at least 75f, 24c in there). Packed up and went to grab breakfast just before 9am. Was a breakfast buffet. The fruit and bread were good. Hot food wasn’t hot or the container was empty, so if you plan to have hot food you apparently need to go much earlier. It was nice to finally see the ocean though during breakfast since our room overlooked the roof and parking lot. We stayed in a 1bedroom apartment in downtown Copenhagen for half the cost of this place and it was far more comfortable. Maybe in the winter this place would be good when you need it warm inside. But in the summer (even when it’s not very hot outside) it is just far too hot inside the room without the AC working. The amenities are broken and need updated. The old tv remote was so large and heavy you could kill someone if you hit them in the head with it. Told the front desk all the problems and disappointment when we left in the morning. They didn’t seem to care. I highly suggest you move on. There has to be far better places than this at a much less cost.

Stayed two nights for a celebration friends/family. A really fine spot on Nyborg beach and a true four star hotel with classy entry, fine interior and friendly staff. The restaurant food was excellent and served with a smile (and a visit at the table by the chef); pricy though.
