Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht ein einzigen Stern geben, es ist eine Katastrophe. Das Frühstück ungenügend ein bißchen Wurst, Käse, Marmelade. Das Zimmer stammt aus dem Mittelalter. Das Hotel hat die besten Zeiten hinter sich. Nie wieder. Die Gegend ist eine überbewertet. Es gibt viele Städte die an einem Fluss liegen und wunderschön sind.

Die Zimmer sind hell und ordentlich. Das Gemeinschaftsbad renoviert, hell, sehr sauber und vollkommen in Ordnung, wenn auch in der heutigen Zeit gewöhnungsbedürftig. Das Frühstück war schmackhaft. Lediglich die Lage im alten Haus ist sehr problematisch. Nach 20 Km wandern möchte man gerne schlafen. Leider wissen dies die regelmäßig am Bahnhof durch ratternden Güterzüge zu verhindern. Es ist sehr laut und das ganze Haus wackelt. Da hilft kein Ohrstöpsel.

Ruthmann wirkt eher wie eine grosse Pension als ein Hotel. Die Rezeption ist nur zeitweise besetzt, den Schlüssel gibt es mittels eines Codes aus dem Schlüsselfach. Im Flur gibt es einen Kühlschrank mit einer überschaubaren Getränkeauswahl. Das Hotel und Einrichtung (v.a. auch das Bad) sind ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen, die Gänge durchs Hotel sind labyrinth-artig. Die Strasse unten am Rhein ist in den Zimmern zum Rhein sehr laut und nichts für lärmempfindliche Gäste. Wer aber keine gehobenen Ansprüche hat, ist hier trotzdem gut aufgehoben. Vor allem die Familie, die das Hotel betreibt, ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit!
