Room was 50 degrees when arrived, coffee was freeze dried, breakfast in an opened box and restaurant recommendation was over priced and food terrible, However, room was clean with bare necessities. Hard to justify the price though in comparison to alternatives.

What a gem in the middle of the wilderness of the National Park. Very large and comfortable room. Excellent bathroom and very comfortable bed. Balcony overlooking the pond and a mountain view ( although too cloudy for summit on our stay). Palay ( sorry if got the name wrong) was so welcoming and helpful and we had a wonderful stay which was too short at one night. The hot tub on the decking was great. About a 15 minute drive to Ohakune which had some restaurants but to be honest was suffering from the demise of some of the skiing trade since covid.

Lovely spot. Great views if the clouds lift. Staff helpful but not in your space. You need to be organised if you don’t want to travel 15 minutes to nearest town for dinner. Easy to self cater. And with such nice scenery it’s a better option. Shared space could be kept tidier

This small hotel is a dream . Pael and Mandy were perfect hostesses ! They provided us and deliver us a great supper to our room . Then they organized a outside BBQ with steaks and vegetables in a perfect tranquil setting with a great view of the of Tongariro Volcano . All the guest were great and delightful people from all over the world . The neighbours Julie and Wayne were there too and were so welcoming . We were very sad to stay only one night .

Stayed here for two nights. Drove up from Wellington so was tired on arrival, warmly greeted at the door and advised we had been upgraded. Room was better than expected, really well decorated and very clean. Bathroom had lovely toiletries and an amazing bath and shower. Bed is large and comfortable, lots of extra blankets if needed. Microwave, kettle and toaster in a separate part of the room which was handy. View of the mountain was amazing, totally unspoilt! Great outdoor seating area and a kitchen if needed. Lovely place, would stay again.

The hotel is lovely, with good rooms, but that is where it ends. For a supposedly upmarket hotel, the breakfast menu, as shown here, was very poor. No orange juice, toast with ham, fresh coffee etc. When we got back on our second day, a neighbour told us that the only staff member had gone to Auckland, leaving us with just yoghurt, bananas and cereal. Not even any bread. The staff member had not told us he was planning to leave that day, and surely someone should be available locally. After the great hospitality we have received in our tour of New Zealand, this was rather disappointing. We hope it was due to exceptional circumstances.

Absolutely loved our overnight stay in the Ruapehu Suite. From the friendly welcome and extremely comfortable suite. Just what we needed. Extra surprise was breakfast was included! Thank you Donna and Trevor Ritchie

Comfortable and modern accommodation with touches of luxury in a beautiful location. The enthusiastic welcome by Mandy the owner made us feel right at home. The breakfast provisions were great, we didnt want to go out for our dinners and the guest kitchen has every bit of equipment needed to put together a meal, with the guest lounge offering a beautiful view and great fire place. We were looking for some quiet luxury in the middle of nowhere to unplug, Tongariro Suites ticks all the boxes. Thanks Mandy, we'll be back.

Great place to stay, beautiful surroundings. Lovely room, very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfasts supplied in room cost. Lots to see close by. Great views of mountain. Just a pity that the hosts we saw couldn’t speak English and had to rely on an App for communication.
