Second time in this excellent hotel - ☆☆☆ superior - German top quality. The hotel is close to the train station. It is a quiet, squeaky clean hotel with very friendly personnel. There are some free of charge goodies that may surprise you. Well, enjoy your stay when you are there. Cheerios!

This is an exception hotel and, at the time of reviewing, deserved to be traveller ranked number one! Although our stay was just for one night - wished it could have been longer - everything was spot on, and a few pleasant surprises too! Staff at reception were very welcoming and check-in took a matter of seconds (as did check-out). Our room featured a spacious sitting room (nice surprise), with sofas and TV, and a separate bedroom, also with TV. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided and the mini-bar contained free drinks, including beer. Unlimited free drinks (very nice surprise), including beer, were also available in two self-service, communal rooms situated on floors 2 & 3 (I recall). Free tea and coffee also provided at reception. Breakfast was an enjoyable experience, with everything that one would expect with a quality buffet-style presentation - hot and cold food, plenty of choice etc. The hotel itself is very close to Oldenburg railway station and dedicated, off-road parking spaces are located directly outside the hotel. The walk to the city centre took about 10 minutes. All-in-all and very enjoyable stay and, as such, the Hermes comes highly recommended!

Located walking distance from the old town, with spacious rooms, friendly staff, free drinks and private parking – probably the best option in Oldenburg. On top of that - good breakfast and good value for money

Simply terrible. While the rooms are relatively clean, the mattresses are incredibly uncomfortable and the rooms are so thinly soundproof that I couldn't sleep a wink. Not only the parking lot and the street across the street, but also all the other noises from the other rooms are incredibly loud. A couple next door were having a great time that night, which I was able to hear practically "live." I had an important meeting the next day, which didn't go well due to the sleepless night. The reception, which isn't on-site at night, wasn't interested either.

We went on a city trip in May. The hotel was a bit older, but only from the outside. The rooms were new, very friendly, and clean. There was plenty of free parking right outside. Refrigerators for drinks, including Coke, Fanta, water, and beer, were available on every floor, and the service charge was included in the room rate, so you could help yourself. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, with a bit of everything. Ideal for a city break, about a 15-minute walk along the old harbor; highly recommended.

Der Bahnhof und die Oldenburger Innenstadt sind wenige Gehminuten entfernt, auch das Cinemaxx liegt gleich um die Ecke. Da das Haus Tagungsräume anbietet, sind die 28 hoteleigenen Parkplätze auch tagsüber schnell belegt. Ein nahegelegenes Parkhaus bietet Ausweichmöglichkeiten. Im Hermes Hotel hat jede*r ein Lächeln auf den Lippen, vom Empfang bis zu den Reinigungskräften. Mein blitzsauberes Einzelzimmer mit Queensize-Bett ist zweckmäßig und modern möbliert. Statt Minibar gibt es zwei gutgefüllte Kühlschränke mit Softdrinks und Bier auf der Etage. Der Schrank mit Safe hat Platz für sehr kurze Aufenthalte. Der Arbeitstisch ist ausreichend dimensioniert und mit 3 Steckdosen ausgestattet. Das TV bietet eine gute Kanalauswahl in bester Bildqualität, aber keine Radiokanäle. Das Haus befindet sich offenbar in einem Vodafone- / O2-Funkloch, aber das hauseigene WLAN ist stabil und erlaubt Streaming. Das Bad bietet ausreichend Ablagefläche und überzeugt mit WalkIn-Regendusche. Gäste mit Frisur sollten sich, wie so oft, ihren eigenen Föhn mitbringen. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist reichhaltig und wertig. Butter wird in kleinen Einmachgläsern präsentiert, es gibt Kaffeespezialitäten aus dem Vollautomaten. Die völlige Abwesenheit von Musikberieselung empfinde ich als wohltuend und entschleunigend. Na de auto pal voor het hotel te hebben geparkeerd, gratis, werden we vriendelijk te woord gestaan tijdens het inchecken. De medewerkster begeleidde ons daarna naar onze kamer, 213. Het hotel oogt saai en aan de ene kant is dat ook zo. Maar het is functioneel en schoon met leuke extra’s. Koffie, thee, frisdranken en zelfs bier zijn gratis voor de gasten. Hoewel daar een gevaar in schuilt, te veel alcohol…. Hebben wij alleen maar de positieve kant hiervan meegemaakt. De kamer is klassiek kwa indeling, redelijk ruim, een goed bed en een functionele badkamer met douche, wastafel en toilet. De minibar kun je naar wens dus bijvullen! Hoewel het tv-station dichtbij is, was er geen overlast van treinverkeer. Ook het gewone verkeer is niet hinderlijk aanwezig. De gehorigheid in het hotel was ook niet/amper aanwezig. Het ontbijt, eveneens bij de prijs inbegrepen, was prima. Nee geen live cooking of andere hoogstandjes maar wel meer dan genoeg keuze. De netheid, handdoekenpakket en ligging t.o.v. Het centrum van Oldenburg maken dit hotel tot een aanrader.

Das Hermes ist seit langem meine erste Wahlin Oldenburg. Blitzsauber mit tollem Frühstück und ALL IN Komplettpaket. Besonders die Komfortzimmer (be-)lohnen den geringen Aufpreis. So kann man fast wohnen. Das entschädigt auch für das schlichte Ambiente. Auch beim nächsten Mal gerne wieder…
