We attended a wedding at this wonderful venue. However, a significant drawback is that the photos of the booked rooms may not always accurately match the room you actually receive. For instance, standard rooms in the Stables section aren't even displayed on booking platforms. This is crucial, as otherwise, the room you end up with can be quite a letdown.

Beautiful property and great potential. Unfortunately our room was much smaller than the photos, had hair in the shower and a strong mildew smell. There was mold in the mini fridge that didn’t work. The AC and drying rack also didn’t work, unfortunately. We were a bit disappointed and tried to leave early but the terse concierge told us the only person who could refund us was “on vacation”. We went out to the lake for the day and came back late to find ourselves locked out with our luggage still inside (though still unwilling to refund us). Very odd experience. One of the waitresses at breakfast was very nice though!

Well it looked great in the pictures - but was far better in reality. Th family have done an amazing job of sympathetically turning this beautiful property into an escape. It really feels like your own castle for a few days - and they personally make you welcome - we met 2 of the family on separate occasions and they are clearly passionate about what they do. The best part though- the team and service - all were fully committed to the cause of your enjoyment of the experience, from the girl who welcomed us at 1.00 in the morning to the 90+year old family member who shared a chat with us about the hotel and its history. We will be back soon - go before it gets more discovered!

The castello resort is a very special place, it is spacious in it’s grounds and buildings but it also has the particular feeling of a boutique hotel. We stayed for five days to visit family nearby and the Lago Maggiore area. We will definitely be back!
