West Downs - the Heritage Resort

Had a nice stay at west downs . York room was pleasant , food was good , resort had a beautiful ambience and is neatly maintained .The ***ager , Mr.Ravi Shankar, took care of everything needed for our stay . He was very welcoming and arranged for our travel within ooty too . All other housekeeping staffs were prompt and did a great job . Overall, The resort warmly welcomes it's guests

We overall had a good experience staying at the hotel. Rooms are spacious. Ambience of the resort is good, Food was decent. There was a new year party which was well organized. Staffs were courteous. There was bonfire at evenings. However we did find minor minuses. The wifi was initially not working, however on complaint they immediately rectified it, but it was still sporadic. The bigger minus was the hot water, which we were told is available only from 6-10 AM(although there were days when there was hot water beyond 11AM) and 6-10 PM. If we had a late breakfast or got up late and missed this 10 deadline, we had to wait till evening for a shower. It would be better if all rooms had a heater. Rooms could be bright and ventilated more with natural light.The hotel is situated on a highway and could be difficult if you want to walk around outside. Barring these minor minuses, we enjoyed our stay and we are likely to visit again and/or recommend this to others.

Palatial property and an awesome vibe. Do try. Ultra spacious suites and beautiful scenery, outdoors, food. Horse ride available in property. My kids enjoyed a lot. The place is very cold but they provide heaters. Bathrooms are very large and luxurious.

The property is centrally located and a must visit if you are interested in Victorian architecture. The property is arguably from the British Era(at-least the Victorian suits). The suit rooms are huge and are carved in wood from floor to ceiling. They have an amazing restaurant and the food is yum. F&B ***ager Bede and his team including Rajesh were ever ready to attend to all our need. I wish Bede ***aged the entire property as his personal touch was there in every meal served in the restaurant. Veeramuthu from house keeping is another staff who goes extra mile to satisfy his inmates. A must stay in case you are visiting Ooty. NB- try to book suit rooms as there is no balcony attached to the the rooms in this hotel.

Amazing property but pathetic room service and maintenance. The rooms are made with wood and the entire night rats were on a run on the roof. Tired calling the reception but no one attended . There is no response to my complaint even after I called up and spoke to the reception for setting up the Wi-Fi. F&B service and food are good
