Thurston House

What a warm and welcoming place Thurston House Bed and Breakfast was. A lovely house with a wonderful porch overlooking a lake. The breakfasts were outstanding and different every day of the 7 we were there. Beverly was friendly and delightful, offered ideas for places to see and go, and was an excellent chef. When we asked for a certain time for breakfast, it was always ready at that time. The beds were comfortable, there were chairs to sit in for reading or TV watching in your room, as well as in the living room and parlor downstairs, or on the porch. The B&B is close to Winter Park, but there are also many convenient and delicious places to eat nearby in the Maitland area. We enjoyed our stay at Thurston House immensely! Thank you so much, Beverly, for sharing this wonderful place with us!

Beverly made our stay a dream come true. Inside and around the house you can feel serenity and see how nature is embracing you all around. I appreciate her attention to detail, her love for the historic property and her warm proffesionalism. We'll be back soon!

Stayed at Thurston House based on other family members' recommendations. Exceeded already high expectations. The house is lovely, clean and spacious. So much attention to detail with the guest room. The hostess/owner, Beverly, was attentive and gracious. Breakfast both mornings was excellent (and the cookies, too). Will certainly plan to stay here again on our next visit to this area.

The rooms were impeccably clean, providing a cozy and inviting relaxing sanctuary. But what truly stole the show were the breakfasts. Beverly's culinary skills shine through in every dish, surpassing our expectations in both flavor and presentation. Further, she effortlessly accommodated our allergies and preferences. The newly crafted garden, with stunning plants, was a marvel to behold, a testament to Beverly's talented gardener. We were delighted to find that some of these botanical treasures were available at such reasonable prices, allowing us to bring a piece of Thurston House's charm home. Husband & I live in Orlando, stayed here for our anniversary/his birthday/Valentines Day and had a wonderful time! The house is gorgeous, very clean and comfortable. The Innkeeper/Owner, Beverly, welcomed us and told us the story of the home and its history (something we love to learn when we stay at BnBs). She made a delicious breakfast for us, and we had a lovely morning chatting with the other guests. We stayed in the O’Heir room, which has a beautiful view of the lake. There is also an indoor/outdoor patio hammock big enough for 2, also with great views. Lots of porch space, rocking chairs etc. Very relaxing, cozy, romantic experience. The home is very close to tons of great food and entertainment options in Winter Park/Maitland/DeLand. We stopped by Cassadaga for a hike in Colby Anderson Park. Great for visiting from out of town as well as for locals looking to get away for a weekend. Beverly mentioned that she also offers cooking classes at the home, we would love to do that next time!

We live in central Florida, but wanted an anniversary get-away. Thank you Beverly for making it an awesome weekend. We sat on the porch with our coffee in the morning and saw a gorgeous sunset over the lake one evening. Breakfast was awesome! The O'Heir room was clean and quiet. We were in bed before the other guests came back both nights and we never heard a peep. I enjoyed hearing the history of the house (there are photo albums and news stories of the house available) and also Beverly's story of how she came to own a B&B. We'll be back and we're hoping to do the culinary class soon.

The Thurston House was a wonderful place to stay when coming for a quick visit to see my son at Rollins. It’s very conveniently located near Winter Park. The house is charming, immaculately kept and Beverly was so friendly & welcoming. The breakfast she made was absolutely delicious! So happy I found this alternative to the hotels in the area!

The home is beautiful and filled with lots of interresting history. Beverly is a wonderful hostess always attending to our every need. Breakfast is absolutely delicious!! We needed a place to rest and unwind and this was perfect! It is very quiet, and so comfortable

After a hectic trip from Chicago to Orlando, my wife and I arrived at Thurston House and a calm immediately washed over us. The immaculately attended historic home was a welcome refuge for us both. The inviting space was matched by a large, well-appointed room, delightful and tasty breakfast followed by a memorable nature walk around the property's lush gardens and adjacent lakes. An oasis not to be missed.
