"We stayed here in early September for 4 nights and our experience was definitely mixed at best. Several issues in my view. First is that they don't have any full time staff at the hotel. Front desk is only manned from 8-5 pm and after that you have to call a cell number for someone that is on call. Lots of steps (lots) and no one there to really help. Not for anyone with back, knee issues. Location is pretty good being in the center of town (that's really the only positive thing). Rooms are good but not overly plush -- very functional. I think in US terms, this is like a Motel 6 or Super 8 (except they have full time staff). We paid over $400 per night which was outrageous. So, we expected some 5 star service and amenities --- it was more like 2-3 star. Wouldn't recommend it especially for anyone over 60."

There are many reasons that we love it which include the quaint location, amazing customer focus, excellent food and ambience, and the overall warm connection that the staff has to guests. Most fortunately and importantly, my family and I have spent enough time at the hotel to have formed great friendships with the owners and the staff. And, those relationships keep us coming back 3-4 times per year to experience the unique and special Dolomites, the culture and food of Val Gardena, and the warm and exquisite hospitality of this family-run hotel. It is my favorite place to be other than being in my home. That says it all."

"The hotel is in a central location with an easy walk to restaurants, bars, and cable cars. My room on the top floor was comfortable. Breakfast was very good, but note it’s continental so not many hot options. The hotel’s location on the main square can bring some outside noise. Especially since you’ll need to open the windows for cool air at night. The windows also don’t have any blinds/curtains, so you’ll get the morning light and may also give the neighbors a show. Staff wasn’t great - I had to ask three times to get directions to their car park and, despite offering to recommend hikes based on the weather, he wasn’t actually interested in doing so. All in all, a reasonable option in Ortisei. Despite these issues, I would stay here again if the price is right."

The hotel is small yet exquisite, a century-old historical site with facilities to meet the needs of modern travelers. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing excellent service. The included buffet breakfast is thoughtfully prepared, offering daily variations on top of the basic menu. A pleasant surprise is the hotel's complimentary guided hiking tours and the Sudtirol Guest Pass, valid from check-in to check-out, making it easy to explore the area using public transport. Furthermore, the hotel offers a reasonably priced and delicious dinner for only €35, including appetizers, main courses, and dessert – excellent value for a tourist area."

"The family and staff of Rainelle are so welcoming and delightful. The Silent Room with the incredible view of the mountains was a special experience that sets this hotel above the rest. The rooms are especially large and comfortable. There is a taxi stand in town that we took one evening after dinner since the bus had stopped running, to avoid the long walk up the hill. We walked the hill twice and it is challenging but totally doable if you are in decent shape. We are in our early 60s and in the area to hike so it didn't bother us too much."

"This is an excellent choice for a spacious accommodation in Ortisei. Our rooms were not hotel rooms. We had adjoining rooms - a large studio that could easily accommodate two and a two-bedroom/two-bathroom unit. Both had small kitchens with a small refrigerator, cooking facilities and a dishwasher, a table and chairs for eating and chairs/sofa for relaxing. Both units also had balconies with chairs and mountain views. The residence is an enjoyable few minutes walk to the town center. We enjoyed the on-site sauna and spa as well. Staff was friendly and welcoming, both at the front desk and in the breakfast room. Would stay here again in a minute if I were visiting anywhere near this area. And by the way, the Dolomites are every bit as beautiful as advertised."
