We needed to break the long drive back to Windhoek for a night, plus the advertisement of a "Safari Lodge" appealed to us. Long (towards the end steep) drive to the building once you pass through the farm gates. Situated on a hill with good views from the pool, main building and the rooms/balcony. Clean, spacious room. Very friendly staff. We enjoyed a delicious set dinner. We were only 6 guests. I Did not join the “feeding the cats” drive which apparently was very interesting and also generally informative about wildlife in Namibia and worth doing. Wlan available. Okay for one night but found the price a bit steep.

We loved the location even if we had already spent 4 weeks in beautiful Namibia. The leopard, lion and cheetah tour with Johan was really worth it, both for the animals and for the talk with him. The ladies in the lodge were also very nice. We used the private road to drive to the Cheetah Fundation: 35 minutes drive for an interesting visit (worth doing).

We were warmly welcomed by the owners and taken on a very special safari tour on their property. The room (little house) was excellent with a screened veranda. The three course meal and the breakfast were also excellent.

We chose Aloegrove to relax for a couple of nights after our 1,800 mile tour of Namibia. The communication with the hosts Johan and Ivy was fabulous during the booking process. The lodge is a good 20 mins along a track, well signposted, and by this point we were used to Namibian roads, so the uneven bits were no surprise. We were greeted by staff and showed our fabulous accommodation, spacious and the attention to detail was brilliant, bubble bath for the bath with a spectacular view, beautiful quality bed linen, ground coffee etc etc etc... Everything is there that you could need! We self catered for the first night with the indoor braai, we ate at the lodge the second night, the chef made a beautiful meal and fantastic breakfast with scrambled ostrich egg. Afternoon coffee and cake is also a real treat. we joined Johan and Ivy's tour of their farm and feeding their rescued big cats. So informative about the all the animals. I highly recommend the tour, it was great fun and we learnt lots. Johan, Ivy and their lovely staff cannot do enough for the guests. On our last morning we sat down with a map with them and planned our net trip to Namibia, they shared their knowledge of the best routes and places to travel to, of course we will start and finish with a stay at Aloegrove! We stayed is some lovely places on our journey but nothing matched the luxurious experience at Aloegrove.

Johan, Ivy and the Team make your stay perfect. They are so friendly and you feel like beeing part of the family. The chalets are lovely and spacious with a perfect view. Gamedrive, dinner, pool and terrace all made our stay a perfect experience.

Lodge on the ridge of a hill, just beautiful and with absolute tranquility, great sunsets; rooms are clean and have great views as well, luxury rooms are very spacious; the lodge itself is on the rustic side and after dinner you are not encouraged to stay inside, lights are out; but there's a nice fire place on the terrace and the starry night, so you really do not want to be inside; We had a game drive with Johan, which was very, very informative and we even saw some animals we didn't see in Etosha; the encounter with the cheetah was very moving and Johan took a lot of time to explain everything. We wish good luck with finding a mate for Chiara and perhaps Diego as well and hope to come back one time!

I stay in this exceptionnel lodge with my daughters in august 2023 for one night ... and I will come back as soon as possible. You have to drive 25 km before arriving at he lodge, build on the hill: with a 360° view on the wild! I recommand the feeding of lion's and other "big cats" ... impressive! The staff is there, smiling and so pretty! The owner of the lodge will guide you for discovering the place ... to do! Thank you very much!

The lodge is located up on a hill with a beautiful view, nice food and a big range of animals. Even the feeding of the big cats can be experienced on the game drive. The apartment has a nice, big bathroom with a stunning view and a bathtub right in front of the window. Also there is a kitchen with a fireplace a fridge and equipment for hot beverages. It's a fine family-owned logde

On one hand Aloegrove is a lodge with a spectacular view, and spacious bungalows with huge comfort and well equipped, on top bathtubs overviewing the plains, on the other hand it feels really private and comfortable. Ivy & Johann, the owners, are present quietly in the background to make one's stay unforgettable, and if one wishes, their hospitality is generously shared.
