Clean and tidy room, with buses stopping right outside to take you into town, although this is a 20 minute stroll. Quiet, and well priced, with a convenience store across the road, and a decent pub a few minutes away. Friendly couple running the establishment, and free parking.

Family run, clean, affordable. Located on bus lines but also has parking. Bathroom was a bit small, but room was large enough to be comfortable, with big windows and a sofa. Breakfast is self-catering, costs a bit extra but was healthy and quite decent, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereals, fresh fruit, toast or pastries.

Walking distance to town centre, buses just outside, a convenient Tesco Express on the corner. Room was spacious and quiet facing the garden. Bathroom was very basic. Friendly man host. Sadly only Continental breakfast basic, no eggs😩.

We stayed four four nights earlier this month and had a pleasant, comfortable visit.We chose s family room though there were only two of us and appreciated that it was a bit more spacious.Also there were two cosy armchairs.We found the room to be very quiet and it looked over a back garden. The breakfast was perfectly adequate and we were plentifully supplied with tea and toast etc. It really is well situated for getting into Oxford.It cannot have taken more than 5-7 minutes to get to St Aldates by bus. The couple who own the place we're helpful and friendly.So all round s good place to stay.

My six-night stay in October 2021 at Green Gables Guest House could not have been more enjoyable! The location is so convenient to reach the center of Oxford—on foot as well as via public transportation. Mr. and Mrs. Bhella were absolutely THE perfect proprietors/hosts. Mrs. Bhella welcomed me very warmly and I can now see why they have been in business for so long and with such positive ratings. I occupied a single room on the upper floor which faced Abingdon Road. Even though this is a relatively busy road, there was very little road noise. My room was somewhat small, but as a “single” that was expected. I was surprised how much storage was available—wardrobe, drawers, shelves, as well as a small ottoman which also served as storage/seating. I had the impression that this room was relatively recently updated with fresh paint, and a new shower facility. The shower was small, but perfectly adequate, and water pressure was excellent. My room was immaculately clean and even though I did not have everyday service due to Covid-19 restrictions, Mrs. Bhella checked with me daily to make sure all my needs were met. What made this stay even more enjoyable was the daily breakfast service. Mr. Bhella’s Full English Breakfast was exceedingly delicious, and when combining that with Mrs. Bhella’s table service . . . perfection! It was truly “service with a smile”. It is worth a mention that the Oxford train station is probably a little too far to walk with luggage (1.7 miles), but there are several buses that service the train station which also stop nearly in front of, or half a block away from the guest house. I purchased a seven-day bus pass which made it very convenient (and economical) to hop-on-hop-off whenever and wherever I pleased. There is a taxi stand at the train station as well, and upon arrival, I chose to take a taxi to the guest house. The fare was less than £10. I took a bus to the train station when I departed. All in all, I could not have imagined a better experience to enjoy my visit to Oxford. As a senior, solo traveler, I felt safe and well taken care of. Moreover, the cost of my six-night stay was very reasonable. Thank you, Mr., and Mrs. Bhella, for such a pleasant experience! If I am ever privileged enough to return to Oxford—my first choice for lodging will be the Green Gables Guest House.

Stayed here for four nights in a single room. The room was quite small (as I expected) but was clean and comfortable. Plenty of storage space and all the comforts you would expect. The shower was snug but water pressure was good. Breakfast was excellent and the owners quite obviously prided themselves on providing guests with a first class service. Car parking (free) was on site in front of the guest house. Bus stop for transport into city centre is right outside so very convenient with buses every few minutes. All in all, a perfect place to base yourself for spending a few days in Oxford at a reasonable cost. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this place.

The room was a bit cramped and dated. The mattress pretty thin and uncomfortable. Although clean, the room wasn't tended during our stay, but the was a notice saying that. The breakfast was very good except for the sausage. We did book very late so I guess the better rooms were already taken. The guest house was only a ten minute walk to the city centre, so convenient.
