The Oxford House

It’s a little way out of the centre but there are buses passing by every couple of minutes. It’s comfortable well appointed the walls are a little thin but it’s ok. You also have to go up a flight of stairs.

Good budget stay for Oxford. Good communication preparing for the visit. Not plush, but clean and practical place to rest your head. TV and internet, off street parking and loads of tea and coffee available. Nice and warm on a freezing January night.

The Oxford House is a great place to stay for a quick night in Oxford on a budget. We dropped in without a pre-booked reservation on a quick stop in Oxford on our road trip out to Wales and got a room right away without any issues. Our room was tidy, clean and was stocked with tea and coffee. Parking was free and available right out front.

The Oxford House is a reasonable back-to-basics hotel tucked away amongst some foot outlets. It is okay for an overnight stay as the rooms are just a bed, a desk, and a shower/bathroom, and that's it. The biggest concerns might be the electricals, with a broken TV frame and their kettle boiling near the sockets on the desk. Still, the lamp raises alarm bells with its flickering light - even the 'receptionist' dismissed it as a bad connection with its plug and didn't replace it. The bed is fine for what it is, but you can feel where the sheets end and the mattress start - and where they store the additional bedding. The shower en-suite is a reasonable space, although seeing a bit of the carpet when stepping up into the bathroom must be a nightmare when tackling the splashbacks from the shower. It's a lovely shower with all the basics you expect with an en-suite. For a stay near Temple Cowley, it is acceptable to access the Templars Square shopping precinct, within walking distance from all the fun and atmosphere that Cowley Road offers. It feels like a converted office space into these hotel rooms, and it is probably feasible for a budget stay in Oxford.

Dear Sir/Madam Because of the following we would like our Fee of £58.50 refunded. Following your recommendation, my wife and I booked a room in the, The Oxford House Hotel. Having driven around for some time we found the accommodation over the top of local shops with rubbish strewn all-round and parking almost on the pavement, Having asked at a local shop as how to enter, we were eventually met by Malick who escorted us to our room. Only to find it uninhabitable, smelling of Damp, Cold, and a very large area of fungus/damp coming down the wall less then 2 feet from the bed. (PHOTO PROOF AVAILABLE) Dispite Malick trying to placate us we felt we had no option other than to leave the premises to find an alternative stop-over. Awaiting your quick response. Mr R. Manley. I booked this accommodation last minute as it was just a one night stay Unfortunately this was a poorly maintained property with flimsy walls,very noisy and leaks in walls and property as shown in pictures is not fit for purpose.I don't think such a property should be advertised by a website like **********. I did call and inform the costumer service team of ********** of the state of this accommodation. I am not sure whether this property is still being advertised.

Clean and modern . Good value for money.

Property was clean except for the carpet and rugs. Very dirty floor. Bed and bath were very clean. Ordered cab thru owner, but it didn't show up! No staff on premises.

It was a nice ten minute walk to supermarkets. Residential area that was quiet.
