Paradise on the Beach Resort

The room we had was very dated. There was a small balcony but this looked directly onto the roof on the next door building. Half of the swimming pool was roped off as the spa, that partly cantilevered over the pool, was damaged.

Location was excellent.  Check in was no good. I arrived  after a long trip after 2pm and the room was not ready yet, had to wait about an hour. The spa  was out of order! And that’s just one of the things I always enjoy.

Location is great and directly opposite the beach. The hotel itself is quite basic. The spa was unavailable, and safety tape along the pool - as well as leaves in the pool - made it quite uninviting. Staff are friendly but reception is often unattended (easy to call if needed). They require guests to empty bins before you leave. Had they allowed a discount or voucher to account for the spa, we would've given a better rating. Cleaning the pool and surrounding tiles would help make it feel more like a relaxing getaway.

This hotel is in a great location, but it really needs an overhaul. The room felt quite dated, and the ceiling had signs of previous mould. It appears to have been cleaned, but not very thoroughly. We had 2 mugs only and there was no sink, you had to get your water for the kettle in the bathroom along with cleaning the cups and saucers. We stayed for 6 nights, and between my partner and I we were only given two towels for the entire stay. Any additional towels had to be paid for — which is completely unreasonable. At the very least, extra towels should be provided without charge. The outdoor garden area also needs attention, with a lot of leaf litter and overall lack of maintenance. Overall, the position is excellent, but the condition and basic amenities let it down.
