Fodele Beach Water Park Resort

It's a lovely resort which feels like a small village. The food is awesome, the staff are awesome, the pools the beach you name it. Daughter loves the train that goes back and forth up the mountain all day. Honestly can't pick fault with anything! For those that are interested, it's about €40-50 Euro to Knossos Palace and the museum and take around 30 minutes.

Very good massage , I have had alot of massages over the past couple of years and this one definitely nears the top of the list. Spearos was very good and attentive during the massage. I would recommend to anyone especially gym goes. The only thing I would change is the noise levels outside but it’s a holiday resort so of course people / kids will be loud which the relaxing music cannot deafen out

If you have experienced 5* service - this is not it. Good food but not massive variety. Queuing to get in for dinner . Friendly and attentive waiting staff in Cretan and Greek restaurant but we could only get very late slots as they were all booked up. Food was very nice in both. We enjoyed waterpolo, tennis and volleyball and animation team was very good. Arcade was a nice change to family card games we ended up playing in the evenings . They only have news channels in English - no other channels - I guess good detox for the kids 🙂 Location - picturesque but quite secluded - you have to depend on the hotel and onsite shop ( extortionate prices) Rooms - not quite 5*/ empty fridge / hair dryer only worked 2 min at the time No communication around opening times of aquapark or pools - we have spent hours trying to check if / when it will be opened ( there were issues with the dust storm ) and the hotel team worked hard to clean the hotel to bring it to usable state. While weather was not their fault -communication around changes to working facilities would go a long way. No space at the main pool ever to have a lounger until late in the afternoon (4 pm) We have resorted to sharing 1 or 2 between 4 of us and it wasn’t even high season. Rooms not cleaned to good standard , despite number of requests . SPA - very nice massage from Maria end Effie but not transparent with pricing and received different than prepaid and agreed treatment . You are asked to give your reviews pretty much in front of them I was quite taken aback and couldn’t be bothered with writing much at the time but I’m still really upset at how they have tricked me into paying upfront. No late check out service so we were asked to move to 2 person room when we have asked for this service- and charged £175 - now it’s the highest I’ve ever had to pay so wasn’t that happy but it was a patchy weather and we were flying at 1 am in the morning. I was remained that we were allowed to stay on the hotel grounds until my late departure and should be happy about that. Overall disappointing and would not recommend unless you lower your expectations !

Lovely hotel nice rooms pools beach and waterpark. Food is lovely, especially the Italian. I had a great massage from rania at the spa. Well, worth a visit, very friendly staff around the resort they all work very hard. Hired a car to visit chania and elafonissi. It was an amazing trip. I don't agree with people reserving all the sunbeds early from 7am! should not be aloud. I haven't been able to get a sunbed by main pool all week. It would be nice to have one for a couple of hours. I think being a 5 star, you should have fresh juice available at breakfast like other 5 star hotels I have stayed in and more sunbeds needed by pool, which would make it perfect.

Everything has been excellent apart from the weather but we have enjoyed the hotel, rooms, food etc. i especially enjoyed the back neck and head massage with Maria at the Aegeo spa. I’ve never had a deep tissue massage before and it was very relaxing.

I am currently staying at this hotel and feel compelled to express my deep disappointment. There is a strong and unpleasant smell of mold throughout the premises, and the level of cleanliness is far below any acceptable standard. The staff is unprofessional, unhelpful, and shows little urgency or willingness to assist guests. Most shockingly, guests are required to wait in line for over an hour just to enter the dining room – something I have never experienced before in any hotel. As someone who has stayed in numerous hotels in Crete and the surrounding area, I can confidently say this has been the most disappointing experience by far. It is simply a disgrace, and someone in management must take responsibility and address these serious issues.
