This was our first time at an all inclusive and it was above and beyond what we hoped and expected. The location is absolutely lush. A short trip from the airport and you're in the bay of fodele, a beautiful bay surrounded by mountains predominantly occupied by the resort. There is a few other small hotels & a gift shop down the beach and the road runs close by to the hotel, although despite being in one of the rooms closest to it, it doesn't disturb or encroach. The resort spreads up the hillside and down onto the beach, with bars, snacks and restaurants across multiple levels. I actually can't think of a better location than fodele beach for such a resort. Food: I am a vegetarian and my partner has a nut allergy, severe to peanuts. From a vegetarian point of view there is always a small selection of choices for mains as an addition to the daily pasta, pizza, soup & salad options which are available lunch & dinner every day. The buffet is extensive, with a wide variety of dishes, I sometimes felt disappointed that something I liked the look of often had meat in it (stir fry noodles, with an additional label stating pork etc) but overall the minimum I would have on my plate was 3 different hot food options as well as the backup of pizza! A note for vegans, there was always a vegan pizza, and I believe the pasta may have been vegan as well as plenty of build your own salad, but that was about it I believe (although don't quote me); the vegan pizza often also was topped with peas? Overall I was pretty happy about the food situation, I definitely felt catered for. Also, a crucial addition, the wine is bottomless refill serve yourself style. Amazing. As for nut allergies, everything has a label with details of allergens, although later on in the service some often go missing and the deserts are more or less guess work due to the labels often struggling to correlate particularly obviously to that on show. There was always a variety of nut free options, however the labels often we assumed were saying "may contain" as things like margarita pizza were labeled with nuts. Overall as someone who has lived with a nut allergy for 27years, the deserts aside I found it to be as good an experience as I may have expected from a buffet style restaurant. On our final night we ate at "ambrosia" the Italian restaurant (which with a 7night stay is free for all inclusive for a single booking which includes 5courses!) having noted a nut allergy on the booking they were extremely attentive, coming to the table to outline what was & wasn't containing and re-itterating when we ordered something that has "traces" . It was at this point we realised that we probably should have asked for more assistance in identifying nut traces Vs containing foods in the buffet. The entertainment was overall pretty great we found, as a mid twenties couple. The evening entertainment admittedly wasn't always the greatest. Daytime however the "pink wave" crew who are lovely have a timetab

We have just spent the week at the Fodele Beach Hotel and had a fantastic time. We were a family of 5, with two young children (8&9). On the second day, our children went to kids club and we barely saw them for the rest of the week they enjoyed it so much! The entire entertainment/mini team by Pink Wave were amazing with our children but we were particularly impressed by the dedication and warmth shown by one staff member, Karina. Karina was kind, caring and naturally engaging and will be truly missed by our children.

ust returned from a great holiday, the resort, the rooms, the food... Everything is just fantastic. If I may be so kind to give some advice, spice up the animation a little more by throwing a theme party, there is plenty of room on the plaza or the beach. Provide music at the pool during the day, not just during the aqua gym. These things can make this already fantastic resort an even more excellent one.

This is a tricky one. We returned from this hotel yesterday. Some really good points but just as many bad ! We go to Crete every year, along with other destinations, but this was first time at Fodele Beach Hotel. On our first full day we had to ask to change rooms due to the ridiculously loud constant thudding music right above our heads coming from the main outside bar area , which went on till well after 1am - this was the ‘superior’ sea view rooms, room numbers start with ‘9’. When I complained to the middle-aged ( I say this as a middle aged woman myself but to differentiate her from the more pleasant younger Receptionists) she was dismissive and almost argumentative saying there had NEVER been any complaints about noise affecting these rooms before - this as you will see from the reviews is blatantly untrue. She talks AT you rather than TO you. She had an answer, although not always correct or polite, for everything. The queues for the outside bar in the evening were just a madness! Every evening we spent at least 20 minutes queuing from every round and heaven forbid you try to double up to save waiting time. The main barman, although jolly, was more interested in doing shots with guests than serving them. If your spending your days at the downstairs pool there is NO bar/snack area so everytime you want a cold drink you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs or take a very small, very hot lift. And they absolutely will NOT give you a tray to carry drinks if your with family and have to carry several , I still have no idea why. So, if in your response Fodele Beach, you could explain this it would be appreciated. I would also add we did not see anyone collecting glasses around the pool until the day before we came home and we were there 10 days. Incidentally, in agreement with previous reviewer, we had no life guard at our pool until day 8 of our stay. So moving on to the main restaurant. Firstly , completely agree with previous comment regarding Restaurant ‘welcomer’. This young woman is the most unwelcoming person I have come across - really not suited to her job. She was grumpy, non-communicative and really sour-faced. Food itself is fine, not perfect (we’re not particularly fussy eaters) but perfectly acceptable- what is NOT acceptable is the THREE hairs we found in different dishes on 3 different occasions. This can happen to anyone.. but 3 times?! Lastly for the not so good points. And to be fair, this is stated in their literature, this place is difficult to navigate without encountering stairs at every turn, so not for anyone with mobility issues. The very nature of its location forces there to be many stairs. So moving on to the more positive aspects - Firstly , the view . Just beautiful , mountains dropping down into the ocean, lovely. Stunning sunsets. Secondly, the cleaning staff , really exceptional, with the exception of the glass clearing away around the pool area but the pools themselves are lovely and clean and very well

We had an amazing time at this place. Its set on a cliff and there are a lot of steps but after eating several courses from breakfast to dinner and snacks in between, it was a much needed workout. There is a mini train going up and down every few minutes for those who can't climb stairs, which was really helpful. But the view was beautiful. There's so much to do, water slides, lounging by the pool or spending a day on the beach, playing tennis, basketball or table tennis, we were never bored. There was always enough equipment to go around. Just make sure you book the courts at reception. The only thing missing in this area was a place to play football. Our 5 year old along with a lot of kids of upto 12 year olds just wanted to have a kick about and there are areas that could be repurposed to allow this. Instead most of the boys were playing football in the carpark area by the chapel, not ideal. The staff were friendly and even when it was busy, it didn't feel stressed. A bit shout out to Gledi, the lady serving drinks at the water slide area (who is also a basketball coach), the entertainers were really friendly and helpful, thanks Carina, Enrico and gang! The food could be better, but it wasn't bad. The was a variety but some things like omelettes, bacon could be better. The snack bar on the beach could be better with more offerings in drinks and food. There are a lot of sunbeds but people were still reserving it by 7.30am so get there early, alternatively there's so many sun beds on the beach. The room was clean and spacious and it was good they provided new 2 large water bottles every day.

After overcoming surprise at rooms being high in mountain, we had the most perfect time. One thing we want can’t stress enough-the food was out-worldly, never have we ever seen such quality and offer in All Inclusive hotels. The amenities were awesome, pools were great, beach was lovely. We enjoyed every moment there. Thank You

Me and my family visited the island of Crete from 27th May to 3rd June 2024. We experienced overall a very good stay. The waterpark was a family-friendly feature. Top tip get a lower apartment although there is a golf buggie,a taxi or a train. The entertainment wasn't too our taste. It was a little weird. The accommodation and the food was excellent and we would come back to stay again.

Really great place. The beach was perfect. Really clear water and plenty of sun beds. Teta was amazing helping me plan my trips and giving me great recommendations. Katerina at Ageo Spa was such a great hostess. Really kind and a ray of sunshine. She organised everything for me and I had a great experience. Raphael at the spa was so wonderful. I was so relaxed and felt amazing. I don’t think I could open my eyes all the way for al least 15 minutes after my massage. The care and enthusiasm everyone here puts in is what makes this such a great place.
