We arrived at the Holiday Inn Paris Palais
de l'Elysée and were first offered a standard room on the first floor (room 002). There was a sewage pipe running through the room, and it had a strong feeling of humidity that you could notice immediately. I understand that most hotel rooms in Paris are small, but this one was extremely tiny, very old, and uncomfortable.
I couldn’t imagine staying in that room, so I asked for a replacement or an upgrade. I was offered a junior suite, but only if I paid double the price, which I refused. After that, they offered another small room on the third floor. It was still tiny, but at least it did not have the humidity issue.
Although the location of the hotel is not bad, and I have stayed in many Holiday Inn hotels before, this was by far the worst Holiday Inn experience I have ever had.
