AAnonymous UserI booked this hotel on Ctrip because my child had a very early international flight the next day. It's about a 17-18 minute drive from the airport, and honestly, the free airport shuttle service was the main draw.
The shuttle van arrived promptly for my son's early morning flight. However, there were numerous steps from the hotel entrance down to where the van was parked. With all our luggage, my son and his father really struggled to lift the bags up the steps and into the vehicle.
In the afternoon, we checked out, as our flight from Kunming was later that evening. I appreciate the hotel's complimentary late check-out until 2 PM. We were told the shuttle would pick us up at the back entrance. To our surprise, there were no steps there, making us wonder why the morning shuttle had parked at the front, forcing us to lug our heavy bags up all those stairs! It was just a few steps from the back door to the van. As my husband opened the trunk (it was a van) to load our two bags, the driver suddenly snapped at us, yelling, 'Can you hurry up?! What are you dawdling for?! I have another pickup! Move it!' His tone and impatient demeanor made it seem like we owed him money; he gave us such a sour look, as if taking us was a huge favor. What kind of service is that, yelling at guests to rush?
To make matters worse, at the airport, he dropped us off at the arrival level parking lot, right next to where he was picking up new guests. We had to push our luggage (and I was limping due to a leg injury, so walking was difficult) across a massive parking lot to find the airport entrance, and then drag our bags floor by floor to reach the departure level. The driver could easily have dropped us directly at the departure level first, then proceeded to the arrival pick-up zone!
Your hotel, located just a few kilometers from the airport, relies on transit passengers who value convenience and, most importantly, your free airport shuttle service. The room rate should inherently cover the cost of this shuttle. The airport transfer service is an integral part of your hotel's offerings. So why is it that your front desk staff are consistently friendly and helpful, yet your shuttle drivers are all uniformly rude and unpleasant, barely offering a civil word or a polite expression, acting as if transporting guests is an enormous inconvenience? If the van could have parked at the back entrance where there are no steps, why did the morning driver deliberately stop at the front? And why are the drivers so aggressive once they pick up guests? If they're so unwilling to do their job, they shouldn't be in this profession. Who would ever choose to stay at an airport hotel with such appalling shuttle service? Avoid this place at all costs! Glaring fiercely in the rearview mirror with a murderous look – what kind of service industry professional behaves like that?

GGuest UserThis is my second stay at Ji Hotel. I feel that half the price here is just for the location. Honestly, if you have other options, I'd suggest paying a bit more for a hotel with more character. Both twin rooms face the street, and the soundproofing at night was quite poor. Another odd design choice was a step right outside the guest elevator on the fourth floor, which is a very strange layout. I also don't quite understand Ji Hotel's room categorization or listing logic. For instance, refrigerators aren't standard; only rooms explicitly marked in the description have one. What's worse, the other double room we booked had no windows at all. This crucial detail isn't highlighted in the room title/description; instead, it's discreetly buried in an icon. Then, upon arrival, you're told you need to pay extra if you want to upgrade to a room with a window. Other chains, like Hanting or Atour, are much more transparent. Whether a room has an inner window or no window at all, it's clearly stated upfront, often even displayed prominently. Some even install a 'false window' inside the room to improve the sense of comfort. There's also no need to bother with breakfast at the hotel. You can easily walk to a local chain near Cuihu Lake for their flaky buns (破酥包) and mixed rice noodles (拌饵丝). After all, the location is really the only redeeming quality of this place.

GGuest UserBorn in 1999, I've always had a special affinity for turn-of-the-millennium architecture. These grand, classic structures, embodying bold visions of the future, also exude a 'dreamcore'-like surreal atmosphere that perfectly aligned with all my childhood aspirations for big cities.
The Kunming Grand Park Hotel also opened its doors in 1999. While its facilities might show the passage of time, it still retains an old-world elegance and style. I particularly enjoyed the slow-moving, retro-decorated elevator; each ride felt like a brief journey through time. Walking through the corridors, it was as if time had gently receded, transporting me back to the atmosphere of the early 2000s.
I often found myself standing by the window, gazing out at the city's evolving skyline in the distance. I couldn't help but wonder: What would the person who stayed in this very room twenty years ago have been like? Did they also stand by this same window, gazing at the sky and street views of their time, filled with anticipation or uncertainty about the future? It felt as if a thin membrane of time separated us, invisible to each other, yet sharing the exact same view in that moment.
I loved it here so much; it felt like opening a window to another time. Yet, as night fell, the clearer that atmosphere from the past became, the more it evoked a gentle melancholy—like a grand, yet now untouchable, old dream. And precisely for this reason, I know I will certainly return.

GGuest UserA very warm treasure hotel. Our family received souvenirs and welcome tea as soon as we arrived at the hotel, which was very ceremonial. Because there were not many tourists, the hotel seemed particularly secluded. Whether it was the private soup in the courtyard or the Pu'er tea, they were all of very high quality. The children enjoyed feeding the seagulls every day. The food was a little simple during the Spring Festival. A male waiter in the restaurant (forgot his name) was very enthusiastic. The green vegetables were all from the hotel's own vegetable garden, which was very natural. The back door of the hotel leads directly to Yangzonghai Shijiazui Park, and the scenery is invincible. In short, I was very satisfied. Thanks to the housekeeper for his meticulous service. Five-star praise. Recommended to travelers who like to relax and get close to nature.

RRene Leonard MendozaThe hostel is very easy to locate because it is situated in a prime location, right in front of an important landmark -the Jinma Biji Arch.
Their personnel, while really young-looking, had been reliable and extremely helpful with all of my inquiries and requests for some assistance during some errands.
Toilet is neat and regularly cleaned from my observation, while facilities such as the bar, washing machine area, billiards table, among others, offer a variety of activities during one's downtime, or even before going to rest.
So far, I had encountered four foreigners of different nationalities during my stay. I can say with confidence that they are accomodating to all nationalities, despite some limitations with communication. For those who cannot communicate in Chinese yet, get ready with your translator for faster transaction.
This hostel is close to Nanping Pedestrian Street, one of the busiest locations here in downtown Kunming. It also has close proximity to subway lines 1/2/6 Tangzixiang, 5 Milesi, and 3/5 Wu Yi, so it is ideal for those who are in for exploration and adventure.

I love the location very nearby to everything. If you are going to Shuncheng street near the mosque, around 10-15mins.
Free self service washing machine, just our time the washing machine did not spin well and dryer took few times around 4 hours to dry 😭 so sleepy have to wait

The shuttle service to/from the South High-Speed Rail Station was excellent. Overall, the service was truly impeccable, and there are plenty of great dining options nearby. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip.

AAnonymous UserThe location of the hotel is excellent; it's just outside the metro station, which is 40 mins away from the airport.
The hotel is quiet, even though it is not far from the main road, and one can hardly hear any traffic noise.
From the hotel, it is easy to get to attractions such as Kunming Ming Old Street. Green Lake, and the Kunming City Museum. 2 malls, Sping City 66 and Kunming Mixc, with different types of cuisine, are between 10 to 20 minutes by foot from the hotel.
The hotel is less than 2 years old, and is clean and well-maintained. The gym is big enough for one to engage in CrossFit training.
Special mention goes to Sally, the duty manager, and two front desk staff, Remy and Annie, for their assistance on the day of my check-out. I appreciate their professionalism and the extra mile they went to help me with my final bill.

If you are traveling to Kunming and going to Kunming South Railway Station, I recommend it. It is definitely worth the money.

The room looks quite new, affordable, cost-effective, the key room is clean and hygienic, and you can smell a faint disinfectant as soon as you enter it, which makes people feel at ease. Although the facilities are simple, there are some, hot water is sufficient, and it is convenient to wash. There is no breakfast, but there are many snack bars nearby, and it is super satisfying to eat anything. The service is also very good, the front desk is warm and there are questions and answers. Next time I come to the high-speed rail station, I will definitely choose here!
