9.8/10
Outstanding
GGuest UserHad such a great stay at the garage, super scenic spot. The room was just perfect and it was quite a treat to arrive to fresh baked banana bread and chocolate cake the day we arrived. The owner was very accommodating and there to answer any questions. My boys, ages 11 and 13 were able to explore the property up to the waterfall behind the home which was an extra special treat. Especially when her dogs followed us along the trail I think that made their day. We even got to take advantage of the hot tub after our day of hiking. Looking back I would have booked 2 nights here as we really loved it and could have easily stayed 2 days and done some of our tours venturing out from there. .
DDahaoqiuqiuEnvironment: It satisfies all the fantasies of Nordic cabins! But it is more recommended to come with many friends! ! Because it is very suitable for dinner parties!
But please note that check-in is self-service, so pay attention to your email in advance. The location is easy to find and the bed is very comfortable❤️ I hope that next time the weather is good and I can see the aurora directly!
GGuest UserWe have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip.
Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us.
The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!
GGuest UserEnvironment: Excellent, with views of the snow-capped mountains from the window.
Cleanliness: Clean, soft towels, disposable slippers and bathrobes provided.
Service: The staff were friendly and helpful.
Facilities: Breakfast was quite substantial, although it was still white food.
LLanqiaofengyueThe hotel is a resort with a golf course. It is close to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and is located in a remote area, so it is only suitable for self-driving. The service is basically self-service. You check in with the password sent to your email and leave directly after checking out. The host is at ease and the guests feel at ease. The environment in the early morning was extremely good, and I saw the aurora that I had been longing for at night. The room facilities are basically complete, the hygiene is good, and it is simple yet concise. Due to the location, you can only eat in the hotel. The dinner price is a bit expensive, but the breakfast is quite rich.
GGuest UserThe room was clean, the service was good, the breakfast was good, the good choice for a day off, I accidentally broke a glass and didn’t let me compensate. I forgot the power bank and called the hotel to ask and quickly helped find it.
GGuest UserThe host was very helpful, sending detailed driving instructions and information about dining and amenities in the area two days before check-in. The property is a 39-minute drive from Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
HHimynameisalexWe stayed in a little hut which was very cosy and warm even though it was quite cold outside. The hut was equipped with hot water, stove, water boiler and cutlery. Unfortunately no oven but that was totally fine. The location was perfect: a few minutes drive outside Hvollsvollür. Would totally stay there again <3
PPottspostWe had a fantastic stay at North Star Cottages. The cottage was clean and well appointed. We arrived to a warm, snug cabin after a day of walking in the rain, and it had everything we needed for a short one night stay. We were a family of four and we brought food to prepare. The kitchen had everything to cook, eat, and wash up. Beds were comfy and the shower was hot. Really great place.
GGuest UserI have been in the rain and cannot let others be like me.
I rented a car with my friends in Iceland and stayed here for two nights.
First night: I arrived at the hotel entrance at 10 o'clock in the evening and found that I could not contact the hotel staff. The phone is not answered, the email is not returned, and the email sent by the hotel when I see the reservation is from 4 pm to 9 pm, and it is not waiting for the expiration. Very anxious, I thought that more than 2,000 people in the car a night.
🌟 Focus: Later, I found that there was a white house behind me, so I tried it. Then a very enthusiastic brother made a phone call and opened the room.
Second night: Because the room was not enough when booking, the room was not set for two days. At 5 pm the next day, I sent an email to the hotel, but I didn't reply. After that, I made several intermittent calls and no one answered. At night, I arrived at the hotel and went to the back house. The little brother opened the room again.
🌟🌟 Summary: It is best to send an email in advance to see if there is a reply, no reply, when you arrive at the location, don't care what time, go directly to the white house behind and say check in.
