Elix, Mar-Bella Collection

We have just returned from a week at Elix over half term. The hotel is 1hr30 from Preveza airport which felt a long way, but once we arrived we were very happy. It’s a very rural location but it’s a beautiful setting and the gardens are beautifully maintained. The room was very comfortable with a lovely outlook over the sea. We had a family suite with a separate bedroom for the children which worked well. Housekeeping could have been more generous with replenishment of coffee/tea/toiletries and the turn down service was non-existent which was supposed to be included, which was a shame. The kids club was great as was the evening entertainment for the kids. The girls at the kids club were very welcoming and fun. I had a few spa treatments which were amazing. The food was great, especially the evening buffet. We didn’t try the a la carte restaurant. The service around the pool and the restaurant by the pool could have been better. The beach for lunch was better for us. The towel attendant on the beach was very friendly and helpful. Main con was the freezing cold pool. Overall a great stay, but please heat the pool in May.

We have visited the hotel previously and after a lovely holiday we decided to return. Sadly, the experience this time was not as good. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are lovely and the views amazing. However, the food and service have declined significantly. On our previous visit the restaurant staff and food made the holiday. Sadly this time, this has not been our experience and the service and food have been inconsistent and at times poor. This is such a shame as the hotel has so much potential but unfortunately our experience means we will not be returning.

Our first time visiting this resort and what a treat it was. A warm welcome and explanation upon our arrival and we settled in very quickly. The resort itself has been clearly well designed and thought through, in sympathy with the surrounding rocky terrain. The flower beds are beautiful, and well maintained, reflected by an abundance of insects and butterflies. The staff are excellent and attentive without being intrusive. The food was superb with a wide variety of freshly prepared meals, and the bar was well stocked with named brand drinks and great local beers. We loved the Greek food and this is complimented by Italian and Asian food on different nights. We also learnt alot about Greek wine as there was a a wide ranging menu to select from with support from knowledgable staff too. We loved this place and would like to try other Mar-Bella resorts if we don't return to this one. Thanks for a great stay.

Just returned from a week away with my boyfriend, and we had the most incredible and relaxing time — truly couldn’t fault a thing. I booked this as a babymoon — our last holiday together before the baby arrives — and I’ll admit I was a little nervous after reading some of the mixed reviews, particularly about dirty pools, noisy kids and it being so remote! But honestly, I’m not sure what those people experienced — it couldn’t have been further from our experience. We spent most of our days on the stunning beach, where the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and attentive. Yes, there were families with young children around, but they were well-behaved and just enjoying the beach like any kids would. If absolute silence is essential, those complaining might be better off booking an adults-only resort. Take it from me… I’m pregnant and easily irritated — and even I wasn’t bothered! As for the pools — both the shared and private ones — they were regularly cleaned and clearly well maintained. I never once saw anything that would support the negative comments I'd read beforehand. (I’d deffo recommend paying a little extra for a swim-up / shared pool - amazing views and beautiful to watch the sunset!) The rooms and facilities were spotless, and the food was varied and absolutely delicious. Breakfast and Dinner could be a little hectic but that’s a given with a buffet! We chose to go a little earlier when it was more chill. While the hotel is in a fairly remote location, we hired a car for the week (which was great value compared to taxis/transfers) and enjoyed some lovely day trips, and an evening out in Parga. I never write reviews, but I genuinely wouldn’t want someone to miss out on such a beautiful place because of a handful of negative comments. This was the perfect spot to switch off, relax, and enjoy some quiet time before baby arrives — absolutely worth every penny.

Love this hotel, have stayed a number of times but sadly don't feel we will stay again. The hotel is spoiled by selfish parents letting kids run wild, screaming their heads off while parents scroll on their phones - they'd be the first to blame the hotel should the child hurt itself. The staff are lovely and cannot do enough for you. Rooms are spotless and the food has always been nice - lots of fish and meat options plus vegetarian. Beach staff are fab - helping with beds, umbrellas, drinks etc and they are really friendly and courteous. Definitely needs some input from the hotel re kids, possibly times where the restaurant and bar become adults-only. I really dont want to eat a meal with a child screaming down my ear. Ive had 2 children and took them out if they were upset but this happened rarely as they knew how to behave! Also, just some simple rules eg attending breakfast in suitable clothing. I don't want some shirtless hairy bloke leaning over the food - seriously, nobody is impressed. It really is such a shame about this place - i feel for the staff who are frequently nearly taken out by kids running around. Just parent or leave your kids at home - no point bringing them if you don't bother with them. But this isn't the hotel's fault and the staff really are wonderful and do their very best to make your stay enjoyable.

It's been a while since myself and my wife went to the Felix with my parents and friends. I CANNOT THANK THEM ENOUGH, I have had a lot of medical problems since and they done EVERYTHING to make it the best holiday we have ever had. This hotel and staff are amazing, kind, helpfully and more the rooms they gave us were unbelievable, thank you all from the bottom of my heart, I'm at a pause in treatment and might try and get there again as it was so peaceful and relaxing which we needed. l
