The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

A lovely hotel in a quiet setting. Bar service was a bit slow but available most times during the day. Food service was ok. Breakfast was good… wide variety… although fruit could have been fresher, ( apple was brown). Dinner at night was ok. Entertainer was good, enjoyed his music and cheerfulness. Difficult to get a taxi on the day we left and was pouring with rain. Staff were really helpful and took us to the train for which we were really grateful! I suggest booking a cab the day before. Our room was comfortable and a good size. However the bathroom window curtains need attention. A shower curtain pinned up with press studs wasn’t appropriate for security and privacy! We would stay again.

An excellent hotel in a beautiful location. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There were lots of great amenities including a good sized pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Had a brilliant stay and will be keen to visit again. Thank you

I stay at the Hydro whenever I go to Pitlochry, it's clean and comfortable, can be a bit warm at night, and some of the paint work looks a little tired in the bathrooms, but it's safe and the staff are excellent. I would recommend it to anyone. If they could put some lighting on the pathway/steps leading up and down to the street that would be great though. Phone torches are needed for that on dark nights.

Where to start, we arrived early and we're happy that our room wasn't ready but needed somewhere to change our toddler. Were advised there was no facilities in the hotel but to use the leisure facilities which would be fine if the changing table had a nappy bin or allowed for weight greater than 11kg anyway that was our problem and we worked it out. Our room was ready about half 2. We were handed the keys and just told it was on the second floor, I asked about how to use the swimming pool after a chat amongst themselves We were informed something but this was a mumble and not very clear. The second floor corridor smelt musty and of stale cigarette smoke. Our room was cold our bed sheets werent fitting our bed there was black mold on the windows and water dripping of the window which let in draft the shower door was rusty and so was the shower. We booked our stay using our clubcard vouchers from Tesco and booked to stay in a superior double room we booked this as it says queen size bed however this clearly was not the case it was a double. Then as we were sorting out our stuff and checking our booking our door was opened by staff who apologised profusely but told us this was a superior double with a scenic view. If you class looking at a roof and some trees a scenic you are in for a treat. We asked the reception desk about the double and showed them the booking we were informed no beds in the hotel were queen only double or single. I could go on and on easily.

Very clean, very nice staff. Room was absolutely fine. But bathroom could do with an upgrade. Quite a firm mattress which I did not mind.

First time we stayed here. Had a fantastic time: the food was excellent (both dinner and breakfast), the pool is warm and clean, spacious room and welcoming staff. Will certainly be back. Thank you.

Hotel is up a hill and looks good from the outside. However the hotel does need refurbished/ colour scheme on walls ?? and especially the bedroom I was in. Staff were lovely though Food was good too

Comfortable room which could help with a redecoration as it was tired with stained carpet etc. The food was lovely and the evening entertainment was excellent.

Older hotel and could do with a renovation but clean. Great staff, food and pool area.
