This hotel is really outdated. I booked it because the online reviews seemed okay, and I didn't think too much of it since it's supposedly a five-star. Here's what happened:
1. I genuinely didn't encounter any Mandarin-speaking staff. (Many people said there were, but the front desk told me there weren't any, so I guess they're currently unavailable).
2. I told the staff I needed a quiet room because I was exhausted and wanted a good rest. The staff said "no problem," but when I got to the room, the bedding was damp, and it was incredibly noisy outside. The main issue was that the stopper button for the sink (the handle behind the faucet) was stuck. I asked a staff member to come and check. After she reported it to the front desk, they gave me another room. I was really annoyed because I had requested a quiet room, so she should have known how incredibly loud that first room was. The sound of cars outside was 100% audible inside. I wasn't surprised that things were broken; it's completely normal for a rundown hotel like this to have broken facilities. The fact that they're still operating just shows they're barely hanging on.
3. The bedding in the new room was dry, at least I could finally sleep. I checked in at 4 AM. They count a day as 3 PM to 12 PM the next day, so I was essentially staying for two days. However, they clearly didn't communicate this, as they called me at 1 PM to tell me it was time to check out. I told them I had booked for two days, and they finally realized their mistake. But I was already awake by then. Oh, and in the new room, the shower in the bathroom was over a bathtub, and there was no stopper button for the drain; you had to pull it out by hand, which was disgusting. I reported it to the staff in the afternoon, and they enthusiastically said they'd arrange for an engineer to fix it immediately. But when I returned, it was still the same. How could they fix it? They couldn't replace the bathtub, right? Also, the hairdryer had a weak fan but was very hot. No wonder the head of the hairdryer had melted.
4. I personally really disliked the breakfast. And what's more, they served the exact same dishes for breakfast two days in a row.
