We had a lovely stay in Pettanesco, Italy, and the lake was absolutely beautiful—perfectly located and so serene. Each morning, we looked forward to breakfast and were warmly greeted by Clara, who was incredibly helpful. She gave us excellent restaurant recommendations and really understood what we were looking for, which made our stay even more enjoyable. One of our favorite parts was the easy access to boat rentals through the front desk.The hotel itself would definitely benefit from having a bar or lounge, especially for enjoying cocktails by the lounge chairs while soaking in the stunning views. Housekeeping was efficient, though there was a small misunderstanding: I had asked for a laundry bag, and instead, our laundry was done and charged without me explicitly requesting it. Also, due to the humidity, we noticed ants in the room, and there was no proper storage space or drawers for clothing, which made unpacking a bit tricky. That said, the room had a great view and the overall vibe was peaceful and quiet—just what we wanted for a relaxing anniversary celebration.

A contemporary sister property to Vila Crespi (which is in town), located right on the lake with unobstructed, spectacular views. The restaurant is excellent and the pool area extremely inviting. The property could benefit from a bar or lounge for cold days, there is no public area except for the restaurant and pool. Beware there are no sidewalks in that part of town so walking anywhere involves a busy road, the main road that comes into town. Also be prepared for no taxis, however the hotel can arrange car transportation with sufficient notice.

I would give Laqua ten stars if possible! The entire stay was a lovely gift. The room was beautiful and the view, extraordinary. The restaurant was also fantastic for both breakfast and dinner. The dinner was so gorgeous that we had to admire each course before beginning. The meal was as delicious as it was gorgeous! Every aspect of the Laqua experience centers around the natural beauty of the lake, sustainability and the bounty of the area.The highlight was the staff. They were exceedingly well trained, but more importantly, joyful, resourceful and immeasurably kind. We are looking forward to returning next Autumn!

The hotel is located in a beautiful position, very close to Lake Orta. The welcome was very warm and friendly, the room was very clean and with all necessary. I highly recommend the hotel to all the guests that want to enjoy some days of relax.

Excellent choice to spend a few days at the lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast options. Various water sport activities. Nice little gym. Spacious suite with sufficient space for the whole family. Tried dinner once - it was good but had too much of a French cuisine twist for our taste. Overall recommendable and better value for money than the 5 star hotels at Como lake.

What an absolutely sublime place to spend a few days. We stayed in a lake front suite, which combined beautiful contemporary interiors, sumptuous comfort and the most magical view. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and everything we tried was delightful, and catered well for our vegetarian diet. We ate in the restaurant twice and had two innovative, creative and utterly delicious meals in the most bucolic of settings. We had a perfect day swimming in the divine pool and took an electric boat out on the lake which was magical, especially as we could hear the sounds of birdsong and the lapping of the water out on the lake as the electric motor was virtually silent. The only disappointing thing about Laqua by the Lake was having to leave. We will certainly return and cannot recommend this simply superlative hotel enough.
