Mbizi Bush Lodge

Where to even begin. We had the best few days at Mbizi. Bjorn and family were so welcoming, accommodating and knowledgeable. The accommodation is beautifully finished, the food is honestly amazing, the pool and the view are both great for some downtime. The game drives were great, we saw so many animals including a leopard and the off roading style was so fun. The value for money at this place is honestly exceptional - would 100% recommend to everyone and will definitely be back! Thanks for a great and relaxing stay guys!

Our day's at Mbizi bush lodge where the best we had ever experienced. The staff was great, lodge amazing and the food was more than perfect with great wine's! We couldn't have asked for anything else. Already feeling homesick to this place. Hopefully we will return some day. We made some beautiful memories! Thankyou Bjorn & Divya, you are lovely. The most amazing place imaginable in Kruger. We saw pictures before we arrived at the lodge, but when we arrive we realize how beautiful the place is, connected to nature, not fenced (which adds to the feeling of excitement and danger, but the owners of the place were very careful and made us feel safe the whole time). The design of the lodge is tasteful, in the spirit of Africa, elegant and calm. The nature around is simply breathtaking, and the most amazing thing is that animals come all the way to the lodge pool to drink water. Elephants, giraffes, zebras and more arrived. It's a magical moment when it happens, I hope for you that you will have such an opportunity because it depends on the animals and not the owner. The owner of the lodge cooks incredible food, every day and every meal the dishes change and they are at the level of a gourmet restaurant. I have no words to describe how special the experience was, I'm so glad we chose to stay at this place, and I wish we had more time (I recommend booking a minimum of 3 nights). There is an option to go for a game drive with the owner to watch the animals around, we did this twice and got to see lions, elephants, giraffes and quite a few other animals, highly recommended, he can tell you a lot about the surrounding.

We have just come back from a 4 night stay at Mbizi. We had a fantastic time with Bjorn and family. Bjorn took us out on 4 game drives and on every one we saw something epic - sleeping male lions, leopard in a tree, female lions, elephants, giraffes etc. We also did a day in the Kruger. The food was delicious with an Indian influence; cooked by Bjorns wife and other staff. The cottage was clean, in good condition, with air conditioning. The lodge is in a beautifully remote area, with only 8 guest in all, so is pretty quiet/peaceful surroundings. We loved the pool also which was cool and refreshing from the heat outside. The time we were able to spend in Mbizi Lodge was just insane. Bjorn and Divya are such great people and excellent hosts. The morning and evening drives with Bjorn are unforgettable moments. We learned so much about the animals and about South Africa. The food was the best we had at our whole South Africa trip. An absolute recommendation!

Mbiz: Stayed here for three nights during our time in Kruger and absolutely loved every minute of it!! The pool area was fabulous and clean and the rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The food was all home cooked and some of the best food I have ever had, Divya and the team are amazing cooks! We went on safaris each day with Bjorn and he was very kind, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! This place honestly made our time in Kruger a once in a lifetime experience and will remain a very special place in my heart! Please stay here if you are thinking of visiting Kruger, it was amazing and cannot say a bad word about it!

Wonderful place my husband and I spent 3 nights and enjoyed it immensely. The relaxing back to nature quality of this intimate lodge is just amazing. The surprise visitors to your lodge or the pool ! But the food is fabulous.. home made by the owner, the beetroot tart delicious along with the dinners and breakfasts. This is a good 5 hour drive from Johannesburg but well worth it.. we will be back.

Hello, I visited this bush lodge (more like home) for only 1 night stay with my husband. We had the best experience staying in this beautiful lodge. As soon as we arrived here, we were very warmly welcomed. We were given a tour of the lodge by Jerry. Then we made way to our beautiful cottage nearby. We had a relaxing time as well as adventurous game drives along with Jerry and Ian. A Special mention to the Food which was cooked here. We would visit this place only for food again and again. A special shout-out to Ian for taking such personal interest and passion in our game drives and also enriching us with his extensive knowledge and many bush stories :). Last but not the least, a shout out to Divya and her wonderful family for having us there and making our stay so comfortable with interesting conversations and some delicious food. Also a special thanks to Divya's Mom who made us home cooked combination of north indian and south indian food. We are definitely coming back again!
