Le Grand Palais Hotel

Don’t stay here! It is well located but that’s about as good as it gets. The room wasn’t filthy but it wasn’t clean either. Had a shower and started drying myself and the towel smelt like ****! I’m a nurse so I know what **** smells like. Couldn’t find the light switch to turn off the lights, turns out it was behind the bed head. Could not find anyone to help us as the seat was not attended. Then a guy who ran the cafe off the foyer said he could help. He had no English, we used google translate which was writing exactly what I was saying in English but he couldn’t understand the translation, he then got frustrated and hostile, this made us feel very unsafe. The breakfast don’t bother unless you want to get sick! Egg where the whites weren’t cooked and cooked at least three hours before they were served and some other stone cold fried foods. We just walked away. When we left a very greasy, sleazy English guy was on the seat and asked how our stay was. I chose not to answer and just dropped off the card and said thank you. This seemed to upset him and he got aggressive as well and was yelling out to us that he hoped we enjoyed our stay and hoped we’d come back. He reminded me very much of Mr Dudley from little Britain.  To sum up, don’t stay here there are other places a bit closer to the action that are way better, I’d never recommend it but I will always look back on it and have a good laugh. The room was massive but very weird, just like the whole experience.

Very disappointing. The hotel is a building site and undergoing renovations. No wifi, no hot water, no soap, no full strength beer, the toilets don’t flush properly, breakfast was awful and the room smelled like cigarettes. The girl on reception was lovely and very apologetic. She changed my room but even then there were dead cockroaches in the bathroom and it wasn’t very clean. The management did not seem to care at all. I would not recommend and will never stay here again.

First, we had a small, basic room on the fourth floor. It was not okay: almost no daylight and only one lamp worked, which was in the bathroom. The shower was dirty and there was no internet. Fortunately, we got another room, the king suite. This one was very nice, spacious, and large! The breakfast is very basic: toasted bread with egg and watermelon. The location is good: close to the tourist center, the boulevard, and a large market!

There is no TV, no refrigerator, nor hairdryer, but greeted by a little lizard, a cockroach and mosquitoes in the room I stayed. The bed was not comfortable and sheets and towels were discolored. I could not sleep well as the mosquitoes 🦟 kept coming back to me.

I had a great night. Friendly staff. Little minus...no safety box
