Facilities: No toothbrush, hand soap, or small bar of soap was provided. However, the shower head was excellent with strong water pressure, and the bed was very comfortable with perfect pillows. Hygiene: It was very clean, but there were quite a few mosquitoes. I was bitten all night on the first day. I recommend plugging in a mosquito repellent as soon as you check in. Environment: The location exceeded my expectations, it's really convenient. You can rent a scooter nearby and explore the city. Service: The owner spoke great English and even did our laundry for free! ❤️ I'd definitely stay here again next time I visit Ayutthaya. It offers excellent value for money!

A very personable, welcoming management couple - very special. It is a rustic, homey Guesthouse where each room is designed eclectically, and that mostly works. The Tamarind may not be for everyone ie. no lift, and only stairs, but for flexible, young (or veteran) travellers the Tamarind is a great find in Ayutthaya. As advertised, it is situated less than 200 m from the gates of the UNESCO designated Historical Park. Yes, sound does carry between rooms in this wooden Guesthouse, but one adapts. Footwear needs to be securely stowed on the main floor but again, one adapts. Map and tourist tips, as well as a rudimentary breakfast to get one started were all much appreciated. I'd be happy to return here, if I have the chance to visit the city again.

Pleasant stay within walking distance from 2 of the main Ayuthaya ruins. 8 minutes away from the local night market as well. It is located in a small alley, behind Cafe Amazon. The signs leading to Tamarind Guesthouse are not obvious.

This guesthouse is excellent, with incredibly responsive staff! We booked for 2 days and were happy with everything except the soundproofing, but even that can be overlooked considering the guesthouse is in a renovated old house, built on stilts. We're not picky travelers, so we were neutral about this point, as the guesthouse itself, its location, and of course, the staff more than made up for this drawback. Breakfast isn't mentioned in the description, but it's available on-site, which was a pleasant surprise as it saved us time for visiting temples. Don't expect anything gourmet for breakfast: just toast, muffins, tea, coffee, cocoa, boiled eggs, etc. It's enough to satisfy your morning hunger.

The room was nice, the staff was good. The biggest advantage is the location near historical temples. Took a water excursion, really enjoyed it
