Novotel Phu Quoc Resort

The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from the airport. There's an ATM right outside the hotel, and across from it is a night market, which is super convenient for dinner. The breakfast mostly consists of French-style dishes, salads, Indian, and Korean food. Not many Chinese guests stay here, so the breakfast caters more to guests from those countries. There's a Pullman and a Sol Meliá hotel nearby, but I think this Novotel has a better location.

Everything else was great, but there was no bathtub. The main issue was the extremely dangerous bed corners, which scratched my son's and my legs multiple times. The hotel eventually provided iodine and band-aids, but these unprotected bed corners are a hazard, and you're likely to get injured if you turn quickly or are in a hurry.

This was my first time staying at a Novotel, and I was impressed with this international chain. The hotel amenities are great, with a dedicated shuttle service and a sightseeing buggy within the grounds. There are two swimming pools and a fantastic breakfast buffet. The front desk and housekeeping staff are all excellent, always smiling and patiently explaining everything. Right across the street, there's a pedestrian street that pretty much covers all your daily needs for food, accommodation, and transportation.

This hotel is located on the southwest side of the island, in an area filled with resorts. It's just a 1-2 minute walk from Phu Quoc Night Market, which is right across the street. The night market primarily features seafood restaurants and Korean eateries, so prices tend to be a bit high. We heard Duong Dong Night Market in Duong Dong town was slightly cheaper, but we found the prices there weren't particularly low either. About an 8-10 minute walk from the hotel, there's a popular local supermarket called KING KONG, where items are affordable and they have everything you could need – definitely worth checking out. The hotel offers a diverse breakfast buffet. The service is excellent; there's always someone to assist you, and they provide a free airport shuttle service every two hours, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The room facilities weren't as outdated as some online reviews suggested; I found them quite new and they were cleaned daily, very tidy. The hotel also does a great job with pest control, with whole-area pest treatment twice a week. Because of this, there were virtually no mosquitoes or insects on the balcony or in the room, except for one mosquito that snuck in on our last day and bit me a few times. For two-pin plugs, you won't need an adapter.

Although the hotel facilities are a bit old, the amenities are still great. There are two swimming pools and a private beach, which the kids absolutely loved. The front desk staff were all very friendly. Overall, a particularly satisfying stay.

The hotel is beautiful and the service is excellent. The breakfast spread is generous and tasty. However, the restaurant area is a bit small and can feel a little crowded. The night market street just outside the hotel is fantastic, offering a convenient selection of food, drinks, and snacks. The sea water quality isn't the best here; the white sand beach has much clearer water.

The hotel's location, beach, pool, and room were all great, especially for the price during Chinese New Year – excellent value for money. The night market across from the hotel was fantastic for food and shopping. I highly recommend Mr. Seafood, run by Koreans; it's clean, hygienic, and delicious.
