Stayed for 2 nights in Nov 2023 Pros: -Room was large and spacious -Bed was quite comfortable with a mosquito net around it if you wanted. -minifridge, desk with chair, small table, free bottle of water provided -bathtub and sink with space around it. -hairdryer in the bathroom -enclosed shower with glass with hot water. -relaxed atmosphere of the place because of its isolation in the north and also the coconut trees around and the sandy grounds near the beach and the swing from the tree. -the food at the restaurant is the best. hands down amazing and decently priced for a resort. tastes so good that we ate here for both the nights we stayed. Probably one of the best parts of this resort...honestly I'd stay here just for the food! I missed it when we moved accommodation locations in the south. Even the breakfast while it is not buffet, they give you multiple choices that are filling. -staff are very nice and friendly. -close to Ganh Dau town which has a market and also close to GrandWorld. -good wifi speeds at 37.5mbps download and 47.3 mpbs upload when mobile speed tested. overall rating 4.5/5 Cons: -the shower in our room didn't have a lot of pressure. Once we alerted the staff the next day they fixed it. -swimming pool at the resort looked a little run down, a bit yellow in the corners, didn't look super clean. -beach not bad, not the best on the island but also not the worst, acceptable. it's private though. -far from airport around 1 hour drive but it can be a pro if you are looking for that relaxed vibe with not so many people. -aircon doesn't get very cold but acceptable after a while. If you like it very cold you may have an issue. -while the food was amazing, the speed at which the food comes to you is quite slow, it might take 40 mins or an hour to come to you if there's a lot of people at the restaurant. Get there by 6pm and order if you want to eat by 7pm. It's worth the wait though.

While “stuck” in Vietnam for a couple years during the border closure, we visited Phu Quoc many times. We made a hobby of staying in different hotels around the island, but we ALWAYS ended up booking at least a night or two at Gold Coast. It’s a bit off the beaten path, up in the NW area of Ganh Dau. The oceanfront bungalows are lovely and comfortable, the staff are friendly, and the hotel property is beautifully decorated and maintained. Most importantly, the restaurant is SO GOOD! We were always pleasantly surprised by the quality of every dish. The coffee, cocktail, and beverage menu is also amazing. I was pregnant during my most recent visit, and the variety of non-alcoholic drink options were a dream. Only removed a star because during our most recent visit (Sept 2022) the property next door was under renovation, and the workers were loud during the day, threw trash in the ocean, and did loud karaoke every night which we could hear in our room (yes, construction, trash, and karaoke are everywhere in Vietnam, but Gold Coast provided a respite from most of that during our previous visits). Thankfully renovations are temporary, and I’d recommend staying there either way.

This place was a piece of heaven for three days R&R. The weather was perfect and the water was calm and clear. We were looking for somewhere to stay and not do much so we wanted to stay at the resort the whole time and not get out and about. So, I have nothing but praise for this resort as it kept me happy without the need to leave. Here are some highlights: Beach front bungalow - if your budget allows please get the beachfront accommodation. Nothing beats having just a little stretch of sand between you and the water. The happy hour cocktails - amazing and well made. I wish happy hour would start earlier at 5pm instead of 6. The pool - you've got the sea but you also have this amazing pool. It is big, it has a little slide for littlies, they have inflatable things for kids and big kids to float around on, also it is sheltered from sea breezes so is comfortable even when the beach front is a bit windy (which isn't always). The beach - I'm not a sea person Nd generally hate beaches. So this is not a beach for surfers and beachy people. This is a beach for people who just want to be able to paddle around and wallow in the shallows without getting slammed by waves. Things to do - they have kayaks and a pedal (remember them!) just lying around for anyone to use. Life jackets are available if going out deeper. I paddled around near shore on both and loved it. They also have snorkelling gear too. I hear they have bikes too but that was all a bit too much work for me. My husband and son went out for a ride and enjoyed it. Food - they had enough good food on offer to keep me happy for a few days. There was a wide variety and the food was well prepared. The staff - perhaps that should have been the first plus. They were all so lovely and helpful. The tables out by the beach have little buzzers to "summon" someone to come wait on you. I felt so bad making them come scurrying out over the sand to take my order but they always came quickly and were so helpful. I researched this a fair bit before choosing this resort so I hope this helps someone else like me. Value for money is absolutely without doubt. The island of Phu Quoc doesn't really impress me (not that I actually got out and looked at it properly) but this place definitely impressed and I woukd come back just to stay here again.

It was off-peak and with few guests. The peace and open space was calming. Quite a travel from Duong Dong, but the room was beautifully laid out with mahogany coloured timber. Comfortable bed, but beware of the sharp edges that can wound your shin. Very good bathroom with bath and shower cubicle. Full toiletries. The grounds are well maintained and clean. The beach is raked clean every morning and waters clear at knee deep level. There is a lovely pier piercings out into the sea. Highlight of this place is the restaurant. We had all our meals here because every dish we tried was delicious. Noodles were outstanding. Due to low occupancy, bfasrwas served ala carte style. Free bicycles for your user to chucked to the nearby village. Pleasant and helpful staff.

We stayed for three nights and four days after exploring mainland Vietnam. A nice quiet break before moving on to Cambodia. Beautiful small resort, incredibly clean beach. Close to towns to explore. Staff were all professional and kind. Rooms have AC, comfortable beds and nicely appointed bathrooms. Excellent included breakfast. The restaurant had enough options that we ate all our meals here. Snorkel gear, kayaks and free bikes.!

Rather than the massive mega resorts swallowing Phu Quoc, this is a lovely small resort with a beautiful beach and friendly staff. We had a beachside room, the best choice really. There are only two things that could improve it for me. Less loud bar music....visitors are here to enjoy peace and quiet. Duong Dong has plenty of noise if that’s a choice. The second is coffee. I love coffee including Vietnamese coffee but the coffee here was awful. Like it had beef stock powder mixed in. Apart from that, it was perfect. If you come here, pick up some snacks etc on the drive there.

We love staying at Gold Coast Resort. It is away from the fray in Ganh Dau and has everything you might want in this quiet corner of Phu Quoc. We enjoy snorkeling off the beach, kayaking, activities for my daughter (swings, painting, a pool too!), fishing. It’s close to the small town of Ganh Dau so you can bicycle over for water or a wander through the market for a new fishing pole and fresh fruits and vegetables.. The beach is lovely. however, the highlight of this resort are the attentive and kind staff. Truly customer service oriented. Rooms are clean and spacious. The restaurant has great ventilation with open sides and there is plenty of outdoor eating space. Breakfast is plentiful and caters to all tastes. We prefer this resort over any bigger place. It never feels crowded. Highly recommend!!

There are around a dozen beach-front hammocks at this resort. Splurge and stay in a beachfront bungalow. It's not that expensive comparatively. The pool is also clean and nice. Pros: Restaurant food is good. Some of the non-alcoholic drinks are off the charts great. Good groundskeeping crew. Hammocks are quite comfortable and most are under shade. The WiFi from your beachfront bungalow reaches to the hammocks. So, you can stream the World Cup or whatever you like while you relax in the hammock. I'm not saying you should come to this wonderful resort and just watch TV, but watching sports laying in a comfortable hammock on a wonderful beach was a new experience for me. The beach in front of the resort is kept clean. There are almost no waves to speak of on normal days. Unless you are there during rainy season, the water is quite clear. You can see fish even in the shallow areas near the beach. We brought our snorkels and snorkeled right from the beach. Do watch out for jellyfish, however. Service is very friendly. Take the hotel car to/from the airport. It's cheaper and easier than a taxi or Grab. Cons: Only fours 8 ounce bottles of water are provided a day, which is not enough. It was unclear to us if the more could be purchased at the restaurant. We rode one of the free bicycles a short distance and purchased water at a mini-mart (note: have cash; many/most places do not accept credit cards). There is an ATM about 10-15 minutes by bicycle in town. The bedframes here will kill your shins. Mark my word! There are also a couple stray dogs on the beach. They aren't dangerous (some quite friendly actually), but I just mention it for families with small children. Also, you may need to ask for a fan on top of the A/C if you are a typical American who likes the room cool at night like me. Overall, we loved the experience at the resort and would certainly return. It's a much better experience than staying on one of the mega-resorts on Phu Quoc. Much more intimate, relaxed environment. Highly recommended.

This hotel is at the northern part of the island far away from the hustle and bustle of the big tourist areas and is amazing. We had a beach front villa for 3 days which was 50 metres from a beautiful private beach with crystal clear water. Magnificently keep gardens and facilities ensure guests are number one on the list. We had the place near enough to ourselves so the service was beyond expectations but the staff were so friendly and attentive that even if the resort was full I would expect the service to be of the same high standard. Free bicycles, snorkelling and kayaking is available and a large open dining restaurant for all meals. The vibe of this place is just pure relaxation and very romantic with hammocks swinging from the beautiful coconut palms on the beach front. The beach front rooms have these wonderful wooden reclining chairs that are perfect for a morning reflection or an afternoon drink or morning drink or afternoon reflections. 😂 It’s rated 3 star but more like 4. There is all night security, very good air conditioning very comfortable rooms and beds and the food from the restaurant is magnificent. For those who haven’t ventured past Bali, this resort would give you your touch of Indo with the added beauty and benefits of the beautiful Vietnamese landscape and culture. A perfect place to start your travels in a new country. The only minor suggestion I have would be to include suitcase racks in the rooms as there is no where other than the floor to access your case contents. Very minor issue. Keep up the great work. A hidden gem amongst the palm trees.
