Very disappointing experience. It was flooding badly in Kata road and no small cars or taxis could reach it. I requested transportation from the hotel around 11 p.m., but they couldn’t provide any. I waited for more than 3 hours at a restaurant in Patong with all my belongings, trying to find a way to get there, but every taxi was cancelled. The hotel still refused to refund me even though it was impossible to reach the property. I had to book another hotel at my own expense.. I would not recommend this place, especially during bad weather conditions. I wasted so much time, money, and energy, lost my full payment, and had to urgently find another hotel. No apology, no refund, and no care from staff. Very unhappy ☹️ my whole trip was ruined.

Some call it Kata Beach Yama Hotel, but it’s not near the beach or commercial areas—we tried walking, but the uphill/downhill was tough, so we took a taxi halfway (definitely not walkable). Perched on a hillside, there’s no sea view at all (not even in public spaces)—just cluttered houses—and the beach shuttle runs on fixed times, not on demand. If you want flexibility, you’ll need taxis; it’s really just a choice between sticking to the schedule or paying for cabs. Overall, our travel experience was pretty bad—my whole family complained about the location. The only upside is the hotel itself is clean, but our room didn’t get cleaned on the second day. I’m not sure why—maybe because I forgot to leave a tip?

Great views. Nice room. Comfy bed. Good food. Very nice staff. Great pool. Decent gym. 2 happy hours. This basic room didn’t have a proper balcony and just a ledge so that was weird. I extended and got the sea view. That one is much better. Breakfast is ok. Cleaning could be more detailed. Not very close to the beach, but there is a free shuttle. For the price I love it.

Room weren’t thoroughly cleaned, the green curry we ordered to the room gave me a bad stomach for two days, and breakfast was worse than mediocre

We`re coming back to Yama for the second time in a row. Last year we stayed here for 15 nights and this year for 13. For some people the location might be inconvenient because it`s located quite far from the nearest 7/11 and the most uncomfortable is climbing uphill every time to get to the hotel. But we generally don`t consider travelling in Thailand without motorbike, that`s why the location is not a problem but rather a profit, because it`s a very quiet place. We love breakfasts at Yama hotel, there`s everything you need and very important for me - good coffee. The staff is amazing. We were so surprised that we were recognized this year by some people from the hotel. It was a very nice encounter. I have to say that this year we have experienced some issues with the cleaning. Regularly we were absent in a room from 9 to 13 pm and after 4 pm. The cleaners started their work on the 5th floor right at lunch time, when the sun is the hardest in Thailand and most of people hide inside, so our rooms weren`t cleaned. Even when we pressed the button "please, clean the room" we came back in the evening and found the room in the same condition. Last year we lived on the 2nd floor and didn`t have such problems. Even though, we would like to rate Yama hotel highly and looking forward to coming back next time. It was a great stay and service during breakfast was very good.

We took the pool room, which was awesome as it's jist outside our balcony. We were located at L1 right beside the restaurant for breakfast and play room. Hotel is quiet and tranquil with mountain view. Very relaxing and nice. Don't expect too much from breakfast. Very average with small variety of Thai food with some bakery options. Staffs were very friendly but many can't communicate well in English. Room was clean and spacious. Hotel venue is kind of situated on the hill so it will only be convenient for people who drives. I would definitely return to this hotel again.

I’m definitely will never come back again. I rented motorcycle from hotel cause i think it will be safer even the price is higher than outside. The hotel pass it to an old woman who selling groceries beside hotel. For the first motorbike- i took a video of it before i take it and then i realised it’s quite big for me so i changed to another smaller- she passed me the one she is using- and she saw this time i didn’t take video of it. And that’s how funny things happened. After 2 days when i returned, she pretended to say there are 2 scratches on the motorbike which is super bulshit and start saying we didn’t do it but maybe when we park it outside other people did it- then started saying she doesn’t understand English bla bla. I was so mad and i contact receptionist- he checked and told her it’s not a scratch- she understood him fully she only can not understand us 🤣. Then after he left she told us we have to pay her 250bath which is the same amount as 1 day rental for fuel. I used 2 out of 6 fuels lines show on the motorbike but whenever i off the motorbike and turn on again it show 4 out of 6. So incredible. I decided to go out and find gas station at 11pm but i will never give her that 250. In the end i paid 50 bath for the fuels and finally get back my deposit. If the hotel is professional- they will never let her do all these dirty to us. Also the shuttle bus service is very rare. And it’s hard to book. They fit in to the max it becomes very unsafe so we have to spend a lot for transportation. I will definitely never come back again

Lovely hotel with a beautifully designed room. Enjoying the sunset on the balcony it’s a very relaxing experience. The Turkeyish Receptionist is super helpful and kind. This is the best hotel experience for us in Thailand so far.

Thank you Yama Hotel !I Really enjoyed my stay in the hotel. Great service, very helpful stuff .The bed was so amazing that I didn’t want to get up go out 😅Pillows and mattress are fire! Beach is close, Bug Buddha you can see it from the hotel. Nice view on the sunset from the hotel .

Stayed here a number of times, very decent hotel for what you pay. Much cleaner than other hotels in and around Kata. Only problem is the location, transportation is necessary if you want to spend time out of the hotel. Pool is really good.

Excellent staff and hotel stay was very enjoyable. Will definitely book again.
