Hotel Astor

Struttura antica e cupa. Stanze pulite, ma trascurate e poco curate. Condizionatore non funzionare. Purtroppo abbiamo spiacevolmente trovato tre scarafaggi morti lungo il corridoio. Per il resto colazione buona. Purtroppo non ci ritornerei.

Hotel changed at the last moment, they didn't let me stay at the Astor but on the outskirts (which had been closed for a month, no communication until the last minute so I didn't think I needed GPS), GPS not working, the new hotel is unobtainable because out of the way on a foggy evening you can't see a road sign. You need GPS to get there. Restaurants 400 m away from the hotel on a very busy road at high speed in fog, I consider crossing the road dangerous, only pedestrian crossings, cars are needed. Room lit during the night because the darkness does not go down, so I have difficulty sleeping, dirty toaster even though I arrived first for breakfast with remnants of food from the previous days. Breakfast in a transit area with dogs walking around (obviously on a leash but they put their noses on the tables), the kitchen light not on, only the living room one

The hotel itself wasn't bad, very convenient for walking around, very close to the train station, the girl at the reception was very friendly, very clean, I don't give 5 stars for the fact that the hotel was too expensive, considering it was a 2 star hotel, I paid the same amount as a 4 star hotel.

It's fine for staying just one night, it's a structure equipped with essential services, located a stone's throw from the train station, and offers a pleasant breakfast with croissants, juice, toast and biscuits with butter and jam. Furthermore, it is very easy to communicate with the structure, they provided me with all the information to get around the squares of Piacenza. However, the structure has some flaws probably due to poor maintenance, as I noticed a strong musty smell in the room and I found mosquitoes. ps: wifi needs improvement.
