Gold Playa del Ingles - Adults Only

Having enjoyed our stay in May 2023 we booked to visit early January 2024. I was pleased to see that the hotel was still as lovely as before and the staff were running the place to the same excellent level. Very happy to find our room request had been granted and having room 813 we had a nice view of the sea and the bathroom setup was better. It was also a lovely suprise to find a bottle of wine welcoming us back. Since we enjoyed the welcome drinks event on the Monday evening last time we made sure to attend on this trip also. The musician was great and it was nice to speak to the manager. After talking to some of the other guests it seems we were not the only returning customers. Most people, like us, had visited previously and are so impressed they keep coming back. Breakfast was busy every day but the food was always kept replenished and the impressive selection meant it didn't get boring or repetitive across the week we stayed. On check out day we took advantage of the complimentary room they offer for 30 minutes, allowing us to shower and freshen up before heading to the airport for our evening flight. This was very useful and we were grateful for this service. We enjoyed lunch one day by the pool and, as expected, this was very good, as we're the cocktails. The live music by the pool one day was great as well. With plenty of sun beds and loungers available we were also always able to get a spot in the sun. To conclude, the hotel was spotless and the staff went over and above to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We have already booked a return visit for the same time next year. I have stayed at this hotel since 2022. The new no slip mat around the pool is great. One life Guard in particular can be a bit over the top with regards towels. He asked me was I sitting at the pool when I asked for a towel. Our room was ok this time, glasses had lipstick on them still, not washed properly, the vent was full of dust in the bathroom, small shower head didnt work and the noise of furniture being moved about above during cleaning at 8am is ridiculous. I said it last time I was there too. You can hear everything above you. The food wasn't great this time either for breakfast. The pancake batter was disgusting the chef said it herself and the pouched eggs were added to the fryer to finish cooking them. The water wasn't hot enough, either were the fryers. We had the same chef all week. A really nice lady and made a lovely scramble egg tbf. The staff are always nice and friendly. I spoke with Christian about a late check out. He said, Around 3 but just check in the morning. Down I went the next mornjng and was told, only until 2 and its 30 euro. That's the first time that's ever happened here. Christian never mentioned a cost. So I asked can I put the bags in storage facility and at 3 can we use a room to shower. Absolutely, no problem said Silvia. I actually think the logic behind this is mad. The room was never cleaned until about 3 anyway so why dirty another room. Unfortunately this is my last stay at this hotel. I used to come here and feel so happy, lovely people, nice atmosphere and chilled and this time it still had nice people but the rest was below their standard. Staying here for a holiday in PDI - it’s a lovely hotel, very friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are lovely, everything you need including a decent kitchenette. We had 2 single beds rather a double which is ok but occasional falling down the gap issues. Great location 19 mins from the beach and 5 from Yumbo and Cita. Would definitely recommend it.

Excellent hotel, given a cold glass of cava on arrival and stright into the room. The room was excellent size and very clean. Great size bathroom and small kitchen. The bed is very comfy. The pool area is excellent and so is the spa and sauna floor. We enjoted the managers drinks hour. This is an excellent hotel and we stayed here because the one across the road is not a patch on this for quality and service. If I am going to PDI again I would not want to stay anywhere else.

Amazing reception staff and great accessibility to sun loungers are both big pluses. The room was also really well cleaned by again a friendly staff. Free fresh orange juice and Cava if you wish it are also nice touches at breakfast. A location that is very well placed between the beach and the shopping centres, pubs etc is also great. Especially as the area doesn’t feel noisy in any way. Likely to return.

Just back from a fabulous stay at Gold by Marina. I cannot praise this hotel enough. The rooms were lovely, the beds so comfy, all in all we could not find a fault. The breakfasts were very good, loads of variety, eggs, bacon, pancakes and omelettes were made to order. All the staff were so pleasant and friendly. Cocktail party to meet the manager was a nice touch.

Hotel is lovely. Breakfast very good quality and fresh. Plenty of comfortable sunbeds. Some unusual chairs! Lovely atrium area. Pool not that warm although said was heated. Jacuzzi very warm! We had the room with the terrace and sunbeds but those rooms don’t really get the sun so we didn’t use it and they have no view only walls and trees. Handy to be right next to the pool though. Nice little kitchenette. Staff are friendly and helpful and always very busy working. Lots of nice little extra touches: mini Easter eggs, wine in the room, bottle water every day, sweets etc. Not hotels fault but guests in room next to us smoked which meant when we opened the doors to the terrace area the smoke smell came in the room. Pretty disgusting and meant we had to keep shutting the door as was enough to make you cough. Maybe smokers rooms would be a good idea so they can be a little smoky gang together and not pollute the air for the rest of us. That said, I would 100% recommend the hotel - just wish it was in Tenerife as didn’t like GC too much!

Possibly the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in! We loved our stay at Gold by Marina. The basics everyone wants to know: - Perfectly clean - Friendly service - Comfortable bed - No sunbed wars, plenty available - Massive shower! - Very high standard of breakfast, varied every day - Perfect location, full supermarket right next door, and a 10 minute walk to the beach or to the main ***** of restaurants or to the Yumbo for bars. The extras we loved that really made us feel the hotel cares for their guests: - Sparkling wine at breakfast!!! Freshly squeezed orange juice too if you want bucks fizz - Mini eggs in our room and a happy Easter card - Not one but 2!! bottles of wine left in our room throughout our stay after being cleaned - Little shots of frozen cocktails were brought round in the afternoon while we sunbathed, those were delicious and definitely encouraged us to buy a few daiquiris! Lastly while our stay was just bed and breakfast, we still chose to eat at the pool bar for lunch almost every day, the food was great every time. I’ve attached some photos of the food, my favourite was the chicken burritos! Thank you to the staff at GBM for such a memorable stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. Keep up all the little touches that make the hotel so unique!

Where to start, Home from Home! This hotel is the best of the best and remains so. Reception, Christian Jan and Josue and the girls... What a laugh, and totally professional!!! The restaurant team, Marte, Angelica, Eugenio, Tarek, Ruban and the rest of the boys and girls, fun attentive and completely service orientated. Bedrooms, spotless, cleaned by a team that works hard everyday to make you feel special, non intrusive, fun, sweet and I think they are all special!!! Renaud, your team are a credit to you and the Island. You have created a sanctuary that I will continue to come back to whether you like it or not for the foreseeable future!!!
