Schönes Hotel in zweiter Reihe zum Strand, mit nettem Personal aber preislich zu teuer für den Service und das Angebot. Leider war unsere Reservierung nicht im System registriert und wir wurden daher bei der Anreise fast abgelehnt.

We had a 2 night stay in the Old Rectory in Plettenburg. It's a lovely hotel and full of history. There are lots of photos on the walls depicting the history. Nice rooms, great staff and lovely food and service. Although you cannot see the sea you can hear it. It is just a 5 min walk to the beach and the ocean. Very nice beach and there are a few beach cafe/restaurants service lovely food and beer. In the ground there are 3 little rabbits that wonder around freely and nibble at the grass!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Rectory Hotel. The team were incredibly attentive and friendly during our stay, and we enjoyed a delicious dinner too. The room was magnificent and romantic, and we really enjoyed a dip in the salt water pool too. Thank you for a wonderful stay, and the only downside was that one night wasn't long enough!

Staying at the Old Rectory was part of a planned trip across South Africa. I was a solo traveler but the staff at the hotel made me feel so welcome. Staff were friendly and helpful as my stay was short one and the reception staff helped me book an excursion that I'm sure would have taken me twice as long to sort out. Room was great and comfortable and again the staff were helpful on where to go and what to see. The restaurant served up some fab food its a shame it was only a short visit. Just so people know the hotel is only 10 mins walk to the beach. A great experience and I would recommend.

We were travelling around SA with friends and family and this was our first stay after our safari. We stayed 3 nights which allowed us to explore the area. It’s close to the beach and it was nice to walk along the front. We had a double room with a small patio which was very comfortable. Service was excellent with charming and helpful staff. Breakfast was very good and by the weekend there was a cold buffet set up with sparkling wine. We arrived late and just managed to get served in the restaurant. The food was good and we ate there again as it was better than what we found in town. The bar area is nice but we were there in low season so it wasn’t open past 9 pm. Sadly it was too cold to use the pool. Would definitely return.

Looking for a B&B in Wem and this stood out from the others as something special but not at a silly price. We were not disappointed. A little old fashioned but nicely so. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable, grounds are nice but still a work in progress to some extent. Breakfast very good.

This is a marvellous hotel full of charm and character. Set in beautiful grounds with excellent facilities, be sure to use the spa… the treatments are amazing. The 1777 restaurant in the hotel is beautiful and the service excellent. All the staff were very helpful and attentive.
