Seyara Holiday Resort

The most delightful staff added to a great stay, they couldn’t have been more helpful and obliging. When it comes to value for money this was at the top of our list. Yes it could do with a bit of a refurb but to have air-con and a pool was great. Be sure to order dinner when you arrive.

Another guest was checking out on our first morning at Seyara. She took us aside and said: "you're in for a real treat here, these people will take amazing care of you." The Australian lady wasn't wrong. Upali and his team were the most thoughtful hosts we came across in a country full of thoughtful and caring hospitality. The assistance they offered with seeing the sites was exactly that - helping us have a great time without a hint of upselling. We did spend a day with Upali's friend Sugash and his tuk-tuk and couldn't have been in better hands. Seyara's cooking staff are also wonderful. While a western breakfast was available, they also offered us a slightly different Sri Lankan breakfast each day of our stay (hoppers with a curry, plus halape/halapa, vadai etc) - it was delicious every time and something we found a bit hard to find at other hotels. Our room was comfortable and clean (and included a mosquito net but no products other than soap). All up, this hotel is incredible value. *We were also lucky enough to see Malabar pied hornbills sitting on the trees besides the pool - I thought they were toucans, but have now learned I was wrong.

We stayed here for one night, the hotel is a budget stay managed by a father and son duo. The high point of the hotel is it's super helpful staff. We had an early flight and reached hotel quite early and requested for an early check-in. To our surprise the staff really went out of the way to get our room ready in 30 mins. Overall the place is nice and clean, rooms were decent with clean linen and we enjoyed the pool. Thanks for making our trip memorable!

I had a really nice stay at Seyara Holiday Resort,my partner was really amazed he is very choosey when comes to Resorts but this time he was really happy with me choosing Seraya Holiday Resort Rooms were squeaky clean,air conditioning was the right temperature,hot water,pool very well maintained and clean.

Located 5 minutes tuk tuk out of town, Seysra is an attractive mid-range property with a friendly and engaging manager. The pool is large but with very little shade. There are a few sun loungers that needed some TLC and maintainance. Breakfast was good. We had a half board room rate so dinner was also included. The room was large and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the road. Wifi was poor. Although it was up two flights of stairs, the staff carried the bags up and down.

Super nice time at Seraya Holiday resort. The chief manager welcome us like at home, the breakfast and the food are amazing. We had a fantastic ride on the rice field during the sunset. The family rooms are big and we are recommending them warmly

The most striking thing about this location is the warm welcome. of course everyone says staff is friendly. This is Sri Lanka. But this family and their staff are is exceptional! Always smiling, always a nice chat, always helpful, they cook the meals (awesome food) you desire, they are kind to wildlife; feeding parrots and squirrels in the garden, they give advice and tips on where to go and … they are good fun (teaching us Singhala even). Also there is the amazing breakfast. Toast, eggs, rotti, hoppers… too much to mention; let alone eat. And then there is the pool! it is so relaxing to dive in after visiting the warm and dusty Polonnaruwa sites. Delicious! In some areas the building and rooms need a little maintenance but nothing a brush of paint or a good cleaning can not help. We enjoyed immensely and thank all at Seraya for the wonderful stay!

Average. Rooms are dated and need to be refurbished. Cleanliness to be improved. Resort with a great pool and on-site restaurant . Staff are polite and friendly. Location, away from the city centre in a quiet neighbourhood . Parking is available at the property.

Small resort with Clean pool and Delicious food. A very beautiful place with beautiful kind souls. ❤️ Fresh food buffet, great value for money. Would recommend it to everyone. All experience war marvelous 💵
