Zadar is quiet and safe: you can go for walks during the night as well as during the day. You will discover splendid vestiges of the Roman era, but also fine shops, restaurants at affordable prices, fruit and vegetable markets, outdoor concerts. “Little Croatian Rome” (zadar) is surrounded with 5 National Parks: Paklenica, Kornati, Plitvice Lakes, Krka waterfalls and North Velebit. An hour or two by car or by boat from Zadar or other towns in the region takes you to all National Parks.
