Worst, and most expensive, vacation I’ve ever had. Review of Le Vele Resort Reviewed June 26, 2022 I’m afraid that the third time was not a charm at Le Vele. When we go on vacation, the place we choose to stay is very much a part of our experience because we like to relax and have a wonderful view. If you are less concerned about that and don’t mind construction noise, then Le Vele might work out just fine for you. But thanks entirely to Le Vele this has officially been the worst, and most expensive, vacation we’ve ever had. This was our fifth time on Provo, and third time staying at Le Vele. We will not be returning here on our next trip to Provo. Let me preface this by saying that we have been living in a construction nightmare for the last 15 months and counting at home. We came here explicitly for some peace and quiet. It was not to be found at Le Vele. Nowhere on their website did they mention there would be ongoing construction during our entire trip. It wasn’t until I got to the front desk to check in that I saw one sheet of paper apologizing for the demolition of some of the rooms during our entire stay. Claiming they would be working from 10 – 5 five days a week, it apologized for the “light” noise we might experience. Instead, I was awoken every morning by pounding, hammering and sawing (including an 8:30 wake-up on a Saturday and before 10 on a Sunday, so our entire 8 days was ruined by the noise). We even heard a very loud boom around midnight one night from what we think might have been someone throwing out a large piece of kitchen equipment into the hallway. This went on almost at least 10 hours every day. I couldn’t relax for five minutes before it would start up again. I could even hear the hammering and sawing from the beach in front of the property. The least they could have done was posted something on their website about the constant construction noise so I could have decided for myself whether I wanted to spend thousands of dollars to be subjected to this kind of noise for 10+ hours a day (we even saved money for years during the pandemic so we could upgrade to a bigger corner room). I would definitely not have chosen to stay here had I known. And I’m sure that’s exactly why they didn’t post anything online. Or, at the VERY least, they could have offered us some kind of discount to live in construction hell. We will most definitely not be staying here or recommending this place ever again (and we’ve told several friends about it who have stayed here because of our recommendation). We will be trying a quieter resort in the future. The people who work here are wonderful, and the room and property are lovely (although the master bed is not at all comfortable). And we’ve had two previously fabulous stays here before. But I have such a sour taste in my mouth now for having to pay this kind of money for a very less than relaxing vacation, that I just don’t think I can take a chance again on this place. I did learn one lesson: I
