Blue Marlin Hotel

Stayed here for 6 nights and it was basically just an ok place. Breakfasts were minimal and repetitive. The room was okay except very noisy at night from the events right across the road which were at least 4/6 nights and could carry on until 2am. Made for a very difficult sleep. Also our room was lit up by a streetlight and the curtains were not adequate to keep out the light. I asked to change rooms and was told “not possible “ even though the hotel did not appear full. Front desk clerk very unhelpful esp when asked for toilet paper- I was told maybe tomorrow. I had to be very insistent that I needed it before tomorrow. She did show up with a roll a couple of hours later. Shower took forever to heat up. Pool was good. Hot tub was not hot and the jets didn’t work. I would not recommend or stay here again.

Blue Marlin is situated a stone's throw away from the main blvd. We enjoyed our stay as the staff were kind, generous and hospitable. Breakfast was delightful as they prepared it fresh for us. Accommodations are awesome! Spacious bathroom and sleeping area. Amenities were just right. Thank you to the staff who provided us with delicious breakfast and clean rooms! Happy and satisfied!

Everything about this HOTEL is BASIC. . No safe. No kettle. Food not very good Shortage of towels, no hot water, only one power point. Have to pay for beach /pool towels. Free water station near tables for breakfast. Staff never friendly and never had even a smile from breakfast staff. No bins in room except the one you put toilet paper in. Cannot recommend

In my home, we've argued about the right rating for this hotel. Ultimately, the COMFORT & location of this hotel is a solid 4. Guest experience and management/staff is 2 at best. The people who work there are MISERABLE and committed to spreading the miserable to the guests. We stayed for 3 nights- TWICE they didn't just enter our room to clean it, they decided to RENOVATE the room while we were on a tour. SO we came back to all of our belongings relocated and half of the furniture moved or disappeared (with 2 new nightstands and light fixtures installed). $4 per day per TOWEL for what looks like your (full of holes!) grandma's bath towel from 1967. A complete waste! Breakfast is a joke. It's tasty enough the first day but it is NOT a buffet.... it's one croissant. One piece of cheese. Once piece of bacon. One sunny egg. EVERY DAY. my 300 lb husband asked for another egg on day 3 and was told NO! You get what you get. you get nothing different despite any requests. I don't know what happens if you have dietary restrictions but based on our experience you won't be accommodated. On one day, we took a 9 hour boat tour that had us leaving the hotel by 7 (when the breakfast opens) so at 6pm the prior evening we asked if we could get breakfast (the same croissant, egg, bacon and cheese) to go at 630. We got an emphatic NO. Front desk was MISERABLE. I was reading outside at 945pm and the "dad" turned off ALL of the lights in the complex while I was reading. Told me bedtime. If you just need a place to stay- the bed, ac and shower are all decent and the location is good. If you have ANY reason to interact with the staff AVOID at all costs!! Even our last day, we were shopping at 1015am, came back and a cleaner had moved all of our bags outside and redid our whole room even though we hadn't checked out yet. Pool is nice. Hot tub isn't hot but it's lovely. Bed is good. AC works. Ultimately, the staff RUINS this hotel b/c good luck having a stay where you don' need or want something. @Exoticca - DO BETTER!

Friendly, helpful staff. Convenient location near restaurants, shopping and beach. Rooms are large and comfortable.

Serious safety issues as a single female traveler, as well as major customer service problems. I downright told the owner/manager to NOT enter my room at all during my stay and spoke with him in spanish and he behaved as if he had not heard my request and fake smiled and said okay lady. I said well if you or anyone else goes in there I have a doorstop alam so got it?! I came back from an excursion and yeah they had been all up in my room, left cleaning supplies behind, and turned the air conditioning off. They also ran out of clean water for all of my fellow vacationers yet convenietly had water to purchase at the front desk. Screw that. There is a precarious glass sky-walk to the second level good luck with that. Thirdly (fourthly?). They are towel-natzi s do not dare to take one towel out of the place or you will be charged; I would advise you to just take the towel wherever and do whatever with it that you want/ 15 bugs and either throw it in the pool when you're done or take it with you. Breakfast is very shi ty and do not leave the place with a towel; I went down to the pool and the Kra zy owner yelled at me and I said Look I am just here at your freaking pool with the g da mn towel relax. He also huffed around when asked to turn on the hot tub which was never hot and had to beg him to even turn on the jets. Come On! Gross Pathetic cheap owner . My tour company/ exoticca has been informed of this dump; hopefully they will drop the place from their itinerary going forward. The owner had his own family all up in there, in the pool, his expensive watch on the entire time. LOL...exoticca, you can do better.

The hotel is old and needs to be renovated but our bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. The wifi was so and so, not always reliable. The Included breakfast was always the same. Not much variety but food ok. There was a pool - water was cold. However, it was close to everything: restaurants, stores, the port, the beach.

To start with a positive, they provide free water (as with all hotels on the Galápagos) and they gave us breakfast early when we had a trip planned. However, they overcharged us for our stay and items went missing. We booked through ********** were quoted a price, they decided to overcharge us by $58, even though we clearly had the price in an email. They told us that ********** had made a mistake and it wasn’t their problem. We’ve contacted this travel agent but realistically we will have to raise an indemnity with our bank, which we know will mean refunding the whole of the amount in the first instance rather than the $58 discrepancy, but as we tried to be reasonable without success, we have no choice now. The other issues is that we had toiletries stolen. Creams and shampoos were taken and replaced with water and the bathroom soap they provided (you could tell easily by the smell and consistency) rendering them useless. We wish the stuff had been stolen but at least not ruined. We told the woman on the front desk, who didn’t seem surprised but also did nothing about it. When we later asked what had been done, she just told us that the cleaners told her they hadn’t taken anything. I’ve attached a couple of photos of some previously white cream. Later that day, we saw the young girl that we believe took our stuff, laughing and skipping as she went into each room to ‘clean’. Btw the floors were filthy! We also felt pretty unwelcome here, whereas this was not our experience in the other hotels on the islands.
