I've been here many times and just felt I needed to give an updated review. This Hotel has now become one of the more expensive hotels in Puerto so I was expecting an increase in the level of service and facilities but it's a mixed bag. Positives. Reception team is excellent, very helpful and informative, there is no porter service, and also I found the taxis ordered through the hotel were more expensive than the ones i booked direct back from town The spa is very good, albeit pricey, I had an excellent massage from Damian and an O2 facial the following day, both treatments were €70 each. The spa is very welcoming, however the rooms are not soundproofed so there is a lot of echo and noises which doesn't help to relax. Pool bar food is good and the service team were excellent and efficient. Especially Susana and Carolina Negatives - minor gripes The food, whilst the breakfast bar in the morning has a huge range of choices, the evening dishes were all a bit similar, you have to get there early as some things do run out and aren't replenished. The rooms are lovely and spacious, cleaned daily, but the towels were a bit threadbare, I would have preferred a pod coffee machine in a hotel of this price, and the shower door leaked - though over the past 10 years I've been here every door has leaked ! The bar prices have increased as well so it is cheaper to drink near by and there are a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Summing up the Garoe is a lovely hotel, peaceful friendly and is in a peaceful location, however as the price of staying in this hotel have increased they now need to step up into that level.
