Staying here gives you access to the Tirimbina Reserve, and you see lots of birds, frogs, etc from your room. The rooms are nicely furnished, although no real option for sitting comfortably. Beds are comfortable, with nice linens. And they have AIR CONDITIONING, which is a must in this humid and warm location. Bath is small but has a nice shower. The towels are not exceptionally large, but definitely quite nice. And they provide soap, shampoo and conditioner. There's a safe in the room, as well as a coffee maker with supplies, but no fridge. Some rooms have a TV, but ours did not. Didn't matter -- we didn't come for tv time. Staff are very friendly, speak English. They can help with guided tours of the reserve -- including private tours. Great gift shop! Nice bar and decent restaurant on site.

Stayed here for two nights. We did the bird watching tour with Alberto m roiz which was fantastic. Also did the night tour and the bat program which were also really good. Food was tasty and varied and evening meal a la carte which was delicious. Rooms were perfect for the stay and included a nice patio area. As you turn right out of the car park is a lovely soda restaurant, only short walk from the hotel.

Perfect location, although the signage from the road is poor and difficult to find. The rooms are basic but clean although a few millipedes were also lodging with us. There is small communal garden at the back of the lodges which is lovely to sit and watch the hummingbirds and poisonous frogs. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant food is basic but tasty and reasonably priced. There are three or four hiking routes to try over the hanging bridge. Wildlife is abundant. You don’t need an alarm clock as the howler monkeys will wake you.

We only had one night in Tirimbina Lodge but made the best of the late afternoon and following morning we spent here. Our deluxe room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The prices in the restaurant were very reasonable and we enjoyed a good dinner here as well as spending time with drinks at the bar - once again, lovely staff. We misunderstood the table numbers, thinking they indicated room numbers and when we asked, were told we could reserve a table to sit anywhere. A sign with our names appeared on the table we chose and we were able to sit at the same table for breakfast. We really enjoyed walking the trails and could have spent hours standing on the phenomenal suspension bridge, watching the river and wild life. If, like us, you only have one night, we would suggest getting up to walk one of the trails before breakfast and then going back to walk the remaining ones. It is truly a wonderful place, quiet and untouristy.

We were on a special Dreamcatchers tour of Costa Rica and spent two nights at this wonderful location. The staff were attentive, pleasant and responsive. Our first room had a pluming issue, we were given a different room after they determined it needed more time to fix the problem. The food was good and the location excellent as you are in a portion of the rainforest that we saw many birds, and wild life. The coffee demonstration was entertaining and informative. The walk on the suspension bridge was thrilling.

Amazing! Beautiful hotel, and rainforest. We arrived late at night, took a walk and found a sloth within 20 mins! The staff was amazing!! So friendly and helpful! Angel told us about some of the plants and helped us with our español, he was so kind and informative! Mauricio the bartender was amazing as well, great conversation and he was very welcoming, he kept the bar open a little extra for us to enjoy a nice drink he recommended. Luis, our nighttime tour guide was so knowledgeable! He knew all the animals, frogs and insects, showed us a great time and let us get some amazing photos! Overall it was amazing and the very friendly staff made it even better!! Love this place! Can’t wait to come back

The 'hotel' itself was really basic and we were unlciky that they were refurbing the restaurant so we are in a room upstairs which has no ambience. The tours however were superb, totally loved them and the location. Went for food at the Mexican 'shack restaurant' down the road which was top.

Our room was basic but comfortable enough. The hotel has an open-air restaurant where a good buffet breakfast is served, and meals can be had in the afternoon and evening. The main reason for staying here is access to wildlife. We did a guided walk and we started with a bluejean frog about 5 metres from reception, then a sloth a few metres further on, then basilisks, iguanas, birds and more. My wife and I encountered a troop of howler monkeys passing between the hotel buildings, and spotted many other animals. Various guided walks start from the hotel, crossing the long suspension bridge into the main part of the forest.

We stayed at Tirimbina for our first night to split the drive to La Povona boat dock the next morning. The Lodge staff were very friendly, and the food was good. The room itself was only what you need, and were honestly not great asthetically. That being said, it was clean, had AC and both hot and cold water. Be advised there is no sign, it’s about 50yds from Dave and Dave’s (who was nice enough to give us directions) However The night tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide was very friendly and did an amazing job of spotting wildlife. Red eyed frogs, tarantula, orb weaver, bats, a burrowing type of bird, a tree dwelling porcupine, just from what I can remember. We even saw toucans the next morning walking back to the parking lot. We would recommend this stay mainly for the tour, but do not regret booking the lodge itself.
